Wetherspoon's regulars; biological machines for the purpose of converting state benefits to brewers' profits...

That said, and in spite of my dislike of Tim, I quite like my local 'Spoons; cheap beer, clean toilets, and reasonable food when it isn't busy.  The legion of the damned stay up one end and are harmless. and the staff are friendly.

I just thought, telling the blokes that Victoria bit her* could be a little too advanced for the average Australian mens room...

* The thought that she might like being bitten by Victoria would just not compute.

Well, the Foster's for sure! :drink_mini: The other two I have never heard of.

So you won't have heard or drunk other Aus pi$$ water like Tooheys, Tooths, Coopers and Reschs, nor the better brands of the newer Aus beer scene like Little Creatures and Ferel.

There's a reason why the Australians drink their beer so cold.

You need to numb the tastebuds somehow:jester:

And it gives a new twist to the term "throughput".

Of course, with lager beers, the output is almost identical in colour to the input.

Chill, repeat...

If you output was the colour of this it's time to see the doc:

Good lord!

I don't like the way the bloke on the label is peering into his mug, or, for that matter, is clutching at his stomach...

I fear the next step is going to be :bad:

Is there a doctor in the house?

I just realised who the bloke on the label reminded me of.  Bill Bailey...

On a slightly more positive note. Its not us beer as Monty python said " American beer is like making love in a canoe"

Not that I've ever tried it (drinking lager or p!ss) but I would imagine the latter is tastier than the former?

I was once working on a Danish container ship and got a case of Budweiser off the steward to put in the fridge in my cabin.  Unfortunately I hadn't noticed that the fridge wasn't plugged in so I tried drinking a warm Bud.  I don't think I've ever tasted anything so awful and for the first time ever, failed to finish a beer, and poured the fluid down the sink.

It is possible to get good quality US beer, I am very partial to a bottle or six of Samuel Adams Boston Lager

image.png.62b6e61d75deffbd87e858766a42e431.png

Which in my opinion tastes like a good IPA rather than a lager.  Are we Brits so good at beermaking that we can preach to the rest of the world, after all we are the group of countries that  gave the world Carling, Tennants, Watneys Red Barrel and other chemical concoctions.  And why is every so called foreign brand made in the UK using home grown products so that it tastes nothing like the original recipe?
