He was just a comic foil for Mannering.

ARWs told people to turn light off or cover windows when they'd been left on during a raid. And I doubt there were many who wouldn't comply and threw bricks at the ARWs and chased they off with knives as seems to happen now with the police.

But there was though.

You do realise that crime escalated massively during the war? Not just a few spivs selling dodgy gear but major organised crime.

There was also the IRA setting fire to hillsides to light the way for the bombers to bomb the cities. Something mentioned in Dads Army.

But everyone was lovely and done what they were told. No one went around burgling the houses whilst the occupants were in the shelter or did the warehouses and banks whilst the police were busy.

The current round of civil disobedience by mass gathering  is largely to blame for the current increase in Covid cases.

There were about 80 illegal gatherings in the West Midlands alone last weekend.

These people just couldn't care less about anybody else.

Well borne out by a comment to a TV interviewer by a 20ish female.

"We are young, we want to enjoy ourselves, not sit at home"

Sums it up, really.

IMHO the time of the light touch in enforcement by the police is over. They need to crack down hard else we won't get rid of the virus.

They solved that during WW2 by sendIng the men of that age to get shot at,  and the childless women 12hour days in munitions factory's or farming.

There is major organised crime now; city lines drug dealing, on-line scamming/fraud, people trafficking and do on, but organised crime is purpetuated by criminal gangs and other individual 'modern' crimes like knife offences and 'cat-con' theft have also recently increased. But, in addition, what we are seeing now is massive civil disobedience. It seems that much of the community is not pulling together to tackle a national threat unlike during the war.

Things could be far worse, just look westwards!

How many of these 'cases' were serious enough for the victims to be hospitalised?

I don't understand why that is important.

It's a sanity check, because the PCR test that is being used is notorious for giving false positives. Once no-one is being hospitalised for covid-19 we can be sure that any positive test result will be a false one.

Looks like this woman is happy to stay there. So be it.

Her partner sounds like he's had enough of her though!

People who use the "sovereign citizen" defence outside the US are definitely over the event horizon and accelerating.

I had read that FedEx and UPS were planning on merge and the new corporate branding was going to be FedUp.

And the trucking firms of J. B. Hunt, Stoops Express and Overnite Express might merge forming the new truck line Hunt/Stoops/Over.
