PatB
OK so how do you use these devices in an Anglia 321 Which raises the intriguing question of what people might have been using the former sockets for. Tumble dryer? Kettle (actually, that one is plausible, along with toaster, microwave etc.)? 9" Angle grinder? 80W per channel stereo amp?
RMweb Premium Alex TM Posted October 21, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 21, 2018 Hi, Have seen someone use it for a hairdryer (though not on an Anglia 321). Usually I see them used for laptops, phones, iPods, etc. Regards, Alex.

luckymucklebackit
No Doubt this has probably been posted before, but I still find it funny......... After every flight, pilots fill out a form, called a “gripe sheet” which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the gripe sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers. P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement.S: Almost replaced left inside main tire. P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough.S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft. P: Something loose in cockpit.S: Something tightened in cockpit. P: Dead bugs on windshield.S: Live bugs on back-order. P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent.S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground. P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear.S: Evidence removed. P: #2 Propeller seeping prop fluidS: #2 Propeller seepage normal – #1 #3 and #4 propellers lack normal seepage P: DME volume unbelievably loud.S: DME volume set to more believable level. P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick.S: That’s what they’re for P: IFF inoperative.S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode. P: Suspected crack in windshield.S: Suspect you’re right. P: Number 3 engine missing.S: Engine found on right wing after brief search. P: Aircraft handles funny.S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious. P: Target radar hums.S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics P: Mouse in cockpit.S: Cat installed. And the best one for last. P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer.S: Took hammer away from midget.
RMweb Premium Coryton Posted October 23, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 23, 2018 Some people will steal anything. lamp.jpg I seem to recall that one of the subway companies in New York used to have reverse threads on the bulbs* in their trains to deter people from pinching them. * Should that be lamps? Or is that just when they're in signals? And maybe the rules are different in the US.
Tangoman69
Bloke meets a girl in a club one night and ends up getting his end away with her. The following morning she is walking through the local Tesco and spots the bloke stacking washing powder on a plinth. She yells "You b@£tard !!" He looks up but says nothing. She carries on "Last night you told me you were a stunt pilot !!" He replies "No I didn't...I said I was part of the Aerial Display Team"

There used to be a version of the UK 13A mains plug with reversed pin orientation (Horizontal Earth & Vertical L & N) for use in public institutions such as hospitals for the same reason. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/WTwAAOSwpLNX85D7/s-l500.jpg They were for dialysis pumps There are other variation on BS1363 such as a T shaped earth pin & a round earth pin for other restricted usages Keith Edited October 23, 2018 by melmerby

Mind you, putting on plugs is something of a lost art these days. I did have to wire up a plug recently so that I could feed the cable of an extension lead between the back of a baseboard and the wall, and I realised it was a long time since I last wired a plug.
