brossard
That's because Melbourne is so snobbish about coffee. Coffee culture was pretty big here in the Northwest but we exported it worldwide and now what we have is *mostly* indistinct from everywhere else, with a couple of local eccentricities. There were many chains that were founded here in Portland (and of course Seattle, where the mermaid was born) that have been acquired by the evil mermaid empire. I remember seeing Starbucks literally on opposite corners of intersections in Vancouver, BC, largely as a result of these acquisitions. In some places like skyscrapers in San Francisco, you see Starbucks on both sides of the street. In these cases, their markets are largely vertical. There are at least five Starbucks outlets in the suburban town where I work. Two of them operated across the street from each other inside supermarkets. One of the supermarkets actually closed due to the competition across the street, but the Starbucks continues to operate. In the 'burbs their biggest competition are the drive through espresso shacks. So, Lewis Black wasn't wrong then: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENGUYeiGtNk John

PatB
What is REALLY needed, is a Wobbies World. That would give the Martians something to think about! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wobbies_World What is it with Australia and half a%$ed amusement parks? In Perth we had Dizzy Lamb Park. Fortunately for the owners, Perth is so obscure that Ol, Walt didn't get lawyered up and come after them for using such an appalling pun. RMweb Premium Jol Wilkinson Posted January 15, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 15, 2018 That wouldn't suit a UK modeller. too many wagons and not enough locos. They've got the ratio totally back to front.
Porcy Mane
Got plenty of locos, rolling stock and track but not sure what to do? That bottom vid reminds me of when I got out of the bath this morning. That wouldn't suit a UK modeller. too many wagons and not enough locos. They've got the ratio totally back to front. Is this more like the British ratio. Can't be bothered with the helix (it'll make me dizzy) so you'll just have to do with six inch radius. ... and in P4 Twoo-Woo, the tightest radius being a bit tighter that 6" due to the transition. RMweb Premium Jol Wilkinson Posted January 15, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 15, 2018 No PM, nice try but still too many wagons and not enough locos. There should always be considerably more locos than rolling stock on a layout.

They've got the ratio totally back to front. I was a bit dissapointed that the top one wasn't a true tail-chaser I was waiting for the last wagon to enter the spiral just before the loco came off it, but it was two circuits short!
