Last time I was in North Wales it only rained once,,,,for a bloody fortnight.

It's only ever rained once in Wales. What you may think of as a dry spell, is when the clouds have run out of water, and have paused to refill before continuing the onslaught.

Too easy - the clues are there - "Maryhill Pharmacy" - so it can only be Ned Central - Maryhill, Glasgow.   But all is not what it seems.....

Likely story!

 

Well, it reminded me of this one:

 

A young Scottish lady in Glasgow was about to take a train for the first time and watched another young lady immediately ahead of her in the queue buy her ticket, approaching the hatch and saying, "Maryhill, single". Money changed hands and the first lady left. 

 

The first time traveller aproached and said, "Morag McLeod, married" and stood expectantly waiting to be told her fare.
