There are at least three and maybe more. Not seen often around here (South Yorkshire) but I have seen some in the nearby woods from time to time. About 10cm long, I think they are young Common Lizards. RMweb Gold Barry Ten Posted March 16, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 16, 2020 Posted this in the bird area, but worth a showing here I think: It was found in our house and taken to a wildlife hospital a week ago. I've phoned a few times and am told the bat is eating and doing well, and will soon be ready for a test flight. He was a bit underweight when found so needed a bit of rest and attention. If he does well they'll bring him back up to our area for release. We were lounging out in the backyard enjoying the sun yesterday when my partner was bitten on the hand by this guy who for some reason decided to come up and have a go. He/she is a blue tongue lizard, they grow to about 60cm, but this one is a young one only about 15cm at the moment. It lives among the garden beds and we've seen it around for the last few months in various locations. Not sure what we did to annoy it, to make it wander across the open grass just to take a bite. RMweb Premium JZ Posted April 12, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 12, 2020 Long post, but I've finally been spurred on to post some of the wildlife I saw on my trip to NSW at the end of 2018. These first three were taken in National Parks I camped in. The next two were taken at Bream Beach Holiday Park in Jervis Bay Territory. These of Humpback Whales were taken from Pacific Drive, Bermagui. They made paying £900 and lugging a 3Kg lens halfway around the World worthwhile. Next some of the various birds seen. I enjoyed the company of this little fellow when I stopped for lunch at Washerwoman's Beach, Bendalong. Three from Koala Park Sanctuary, Pennant Hills, Sydney. Unfortunately, these were the only Koalas and Wombats that I saw alive, the rest had been struck by vehicles at the roadside. And finally, this is Scout, the only domestic, or any other, cat I saw in three week in Australia. I imagine that most people keep them in due to the risk from snakes and the damage the cats could do to other indigenous wildlife. All that was left was a small pool of blood, a few feathers and the head. I went outside when the sun came out after a heavy shower and saw this chap, fortunately it hadn't moved much by the time I'd got the camera out.
