They are rescued wild ones that for various reasons can't go back to the wild, some people don't agree but I believe that if they can't go back to the wild a domestic life is better than putting them to sleep.

We have had six over the years and there are two here at present three of the other four had long and happy lives with us .

We have released another rescued one into the wild tonight and there is another coming for release tomorrow

This sparrow hawk is a regular visitor and like to sit on the fence about 10ft away from the window

Nice photo, we get one regularly in our suburban garden in Romford, never seen it like that though, there's normally a loud crash in the bushes and it flies up and away occasionally with something in it's mouth.

Been spending time researching at Sydneys Rookwood Cemetery over the last few weeks. At 700 acres and a million internments its quite a haven for birds and wildlife like possums and wallabies.

Apart from the compulsory crows there are large numbers of more Australian style birds.

Popped into the garden about 3 o'clock this afternoon and found the air full of bees. They'd decided to settle on the hawthorn hedge.

After 30 minutes or so they'd quietened down and I took this picture. They may move on as it seems an odd place to start a new hive.

I've called the local beekeeper, but not had a reply yet.

We had another swarm about 25 years ago. Came home to find the corner of the garage covered in bees. The local beekeeper took them too. I expect he's passed on now though.

Almost a year to the day and we had another swarm today about 11:30. this time they've holed up in the bushes behind the garden.

The pic' isn't great as I had to shoot against the sun and zoom in then enhance and crop.

They departed a short while ago, almost the same time as arriving yesterday.

I'll have to remember for next year.

One big hog there Phil!

We keep on about getting one of those cameras as we think we are feeding at least five hedgehogs , there have been deer and bank voles in the garden over last few years

We have released some hedgehogs over the years and there is a possibility of some more later this year.

We also have two disabled hedgehogs which live with us in the house , in fact they are sitting on sofa next to me as I type this

In my yard the other day, the first turtle that I have seen here in the three years that I have lived here:Turtle_in_yard-01.JPG.02548b2c6547bf12677706c2d6fb34f8.JPG913197610_Turtleinyard-02.JPG.304b7f558d8406c89dab9ec4ef88e359.JPG1111466874_Turtleinyard-03.JPG.02cdf7d334ff73ec7f32433bf15b098c.JPG

Many birds,  rabbits, squirrels, and a few deer but this is the first turtle.
