Smashing bit of work Paul. I think it will look great on a patch of wasteground or in the planned scrapyard.

Looks like many an example I used to see in Durber's scrapyard in Doxey!

Andy

Oi! still got a good few miles in it yet...

That poor little car.

A great bit of modelling, Paul.  Looks nearly as bad as my Escort did after falling off the West Brom. Expressway!!!

Maybe needs just a bit less air in the tyres, before despatch to Ford's Valhalla.

Lovely motor, taxed and MOT'd, hardly used, owned by the vicars wife. Scratches?!, Oh, they'll buff out. To you squire, 500 sovs.....cash only.... Nice work Paul, looks just the part.

You're a hard man to deal with Mr Daley, ok then , I'll take it...

Tyres will be flattened a bit, waiting for glue to dry on the axles. I'll add a bit of greenery and send you the bill...

Alas not. I have already booked a non-refundable, non-changeable ticket, so I am unable to come to London any earlier*. And even if I do get the models completed some days (or more) before the show, I really don't want to trust them to the vagaries of the postal services. If they went missing or got damaged, then the BCB layout's timelines would really go up the spout! (one of the reasons I am delivering them by hand).

However, the footprints of both buildings are 99.99% identical to the mock ups, so minimal "hacking away" will be required (if any). However, the BCB team will need to have a set of Xuron brass etch snips and Xuron plastic cutters on hand. The former to trim the fire escape (if necessary) and the second to trim the watergoods down spouts (again, if necessary).

Where I do see a small difference is in the wall projecting from the lean-to (it will be thicker than the mock-up) and the area behind the Tennants building (where the fire escape and the air scrubbers sit - but they lie on the surface)

I arrive in London at 07:55 at LCY, so in extremis, could make Ally Pally about 09:00 or so (depending upon transport)

oh i see. sorry.

I didn't realise you mean't you were coming!

too many long hours at work.

looking forward to meeting you and the buildings

Well, the cortina is just about ready for the cutters torch...

Smooth the tyres down - any with tread on would have been knicked!

My memory of Durber's in Stafford,  as I said to 5C recently is me and my brother under 10 or 11 pretending to drive cars that were sitting on top of other cars checking out the glove boxes whilst my dad tried to smuggle the odd bit out in his toolbox

Do you know, it was never cold when I was young !!!

Will you be in a UPS brown uniform?

Do you want me to be?

When I think of "courier" I think of diplomatic bags and OHMS....

Just to add a frisson of drama, the models will be in a leather bag, closed with a combination lock, chained to my wrist...

Combinations are probably a good idea at this time of year.

Ian, You note that Johnny Gringo likes your post?

He wears those Western all-in-one's that are bright red with bum flaps - reference: Jack Elam in any Western that he was in - usually taking a bath in them.....

I actually bought my Dad (RIP) a pair (a set?) from the 'States. He was a big Jack Elam fan.......post-9016-0-59855200-1361573859.jpg

Best, Pete.

Paul,

Very nice (?) job but- the exhaust looks a bit on the large size - from memory it was only about 1"- 1.1/2" bore and when running well used to have a lovely 'purring' sound -  very distinctive. I know - I had one 1200cc 4 speed all synchro box (the first popular car with that) BUT spoiled unfortunately a penchant to knacker starter motors bendixes and the ocaisional starter ring.
