Post disappeared

but when I posted it,,, there was a long delay whilst it said... 'saving post' after which it closed and nothing had happened?

 

have had this happen once or twice in past few months?

I've had posts disappear as I write them. This has happened several times lately. I put it down to possible browser (I.E.) fault....or not...!

Not a browser problem I think John - unless Safari has the same affliction.

It can happen if there's an interruption in connection.

 

If it's a long post just Ctrl + C to copy it just in case before you hit send. You can then paste it in again or into Notepad if anything did go awry.

 

Say's he who's just had to rewrite an article as he'd saved over it in Word. :-/

In which case that's the bug related to IE I'm afraid. None of the fixes given by the software company seem to have been able to resolve that.

This has pretty much become standard operating procedure for me and avoids frustration.

 

I don't recall seeing a post disappear while it was being edited (even in IE). I have seen situations after hitting "POST" when the browser seems to be stuck in a loop or even produces an SQL error, only to find the post actually happened.
