Wendell1976
Here are some pictures of a Norfolk Southern freight train running down Scott Street in Bristol, Virginia. Wendell1976
Here is a picture of Hampton Roads Transit's Tide light rail train in Norfolk, Virginia. The train is at the MacArthur Square station in Downtown Norfolk. City Hall Avenue, Plume Street, Bank Street, and Atlantic Street all surround the MacArthur Square station. The Tide light rail route is 7.4 miles(11.9 kilometers) long and it runs entirely in the City of Norfolk(to the City of Virginia Beach border). The Tide trains started running in 2011 well after my time of being in Norfolk for an extended time. I was stationed on a ship with the United States Navy at Naval Station Norfolk(the largest naval base in the world) back in the 1990's. http://www.railpictures.net/photo/545083/ Â Wendell Idaho, USA

It's just an open website: http://www.shorpy.com/  I have never had any problem accessing it from any computer. Have you any restrictions set up?  Keith  EDIT It's been linked to on RMWeb before without a problem. I can't view Railpictures because it says I have an adblocker. RMweb Premium melmerby Posted August 13, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 13, 2018 (edited) I have just tried the Shorpy site on a Samsung tablet and it accesses it just fine. Bit slower than my PCs but a lot less processing power!  Keith  EDIT I have completely removed my adblocker and it still claims I have one on Railpictures!   I've even tried a VPN set to US! Wendell1976
"That almost looks like a model with the ubiquitous roadworks cameo."  Cheers, Mick  By looking at how some of the streets are formed(with one car driving in each direction) and the tracks being embedded into a reddish clay-looking concrete, that picture looks like a model railroad.  Wendell Idaho, USA Edited August 13, 2018 by Wendell1976
Wendell1976
"Vintage" photo, from the Boston and Maine facebook group...  B&M SW-9 #1223 pulling a freight down Commercial St. in Portland, ME. Heading for the Grand Trunk interchange (using former Portland Terminal trackage) on October 10. 1983. Photographer (and B&M Conductor): Russ Monroe  1223 Commercial St Portland ME 10-10-83.jpg  One interesting element to this photo is that by 1983, the B&M, Maine Central, and Portland Terminal had all been purchased/absorbed into Guilford. 1223 lasted all the way thru the McGinnis era with its Maroon and Gold paint, it hadn't been repainted into the "blue dip" paint scheme.  Tracks are now gone. Nice picture of the Boston & Maine in Portland, Maine. Paul Boehlert had made a layout modeling Portland, Maine in the Model Railroader magazine(about two years ago).  Wendell Idaho, USA

Wendell1976
Here are some more pictures for this thread of Brantford, Ontario. The inventor of the telephone was the late Alexander Graham Bell and he lived in this city. Brantford is not too far from Hamilton. The Canadian National Railway(CN) used to do street running down Clarence Street in Brantford(in these pictures). Today, the Southern Ontario Railway does the street running and is owned by Genesee & Wyoming. http://www.railpictures.net/photo/419900/ http://www.railpictures.net/photo/420314/ http://www.railpictures.net/photo/463068/ Â Wendell Idaho, USA
RMweb Premium melmerby Posted August 14, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 14, 2018 I've just sent an e-mail to Railpictures to ask what could cause the adblock message when I am not using an adblocker. I uninstalled Adblock Plus it and did a refresh of Firefox, which has since also updated itself and Railpictures still shows as blocked. Â I'll see what they say. Â Keith Try re-installing Adblock Plus, go into Railpictures and it should show the ABP symbol (a red octagon), click on that and it will show an option 'Disable on this site.' Click on that and the octagon should change to grey. If you still cannot view Railpictures try coming out of the site and re-entering.

As I was still getting the site blocking me I uninstalled it completely. Just added Adblock plus to FF again Went to Railpictures site. Clicked on ABP and "disable on this site" It has turned grey. Click on Railpictures photo - "You're using an adblocker" (ABP is still grey.)  Keith  EDIT Just tried it on IE which has no add-ons whatsoever and it is just the same as is a Samsung tablet with an adblocker turned off. Seems like the site has some serious issues! Edited August 14, 2018 by melmerby
RMweb Premium melmerby Posted August 14, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 14, 2018 (edited) I manage to get the tablet to work after turning the adblock off, then on and then off again. However I cannot get the one PC to work with railpictures.net with any settings. Â Both my other computers (a Laptop & a Desktop PC) work fine if you turn ABP off once you are on the site. There must be something about the one basic PC that triggers something in railpictures to make railpictures site think there is an adblocker when there isn't. Â I have been catching up on those many posts I haven't been able to see before. A feast of street running! Wendell1976
More pictures of Phoenix, Arizona. RMweb Premium melmerby Posted August 15, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 15, 2018 The thing I have noticed is the appaling state of the track in many of these in street sections. Foreshortening with a zoom doesn't help though! Â Keith
