Composition is very important in trying to make the generic parts into a believeable whole. The generic Walthers backscene was eventually replaced with photographs as there was only so much you could do to hide it. Wills, Ratio and Rix parts are also evident in the third photo. One of the few remaining areas with buildings dating from the early 20th century. These are unusual in that they are brick built. Most buildings would have been sandstone. This is Hungry Horse Montana. Its claim to fame was one of the largest mail order model railroad shops in the US used to be there. Note the steep all metal roofs. The famous Eddie's of Apgar in Glacier Park Mt. Lots of good detail and I think it would make an interesting model. Your mileage may vary. Having seen this pic though, I have a sudden craving for Huckleberry icecream. The main drag in Whitefish Mt. West Glacier Mt. Finally a bit of silliness. These are popular in Ohio, at least - and are large sheds where you literally drive through the building, in many cases. Main St, downtown Barberton. Note how no two buildings have the same frontage or roofline.. Barberton Herald building. At first sight a simple box, relieved by some decorative brickwork. Some more timber framed company housing Residential street scene - included to show the typical "clutter" in terms of utility lines, street furniture, etc that abounds in older neighborhoods. This is one of the plants where they make boilers for power generation stations.
