Supaned
it's funny, a lot of enthusiasts shun goggles as they're quiet in comparison to a 749 , even though they both have the same power unit. The goggles have a silencer built as part of the roof , so they can't really run without one , whereas on the 749s they are a separate item which is why some of them sound like a BR class 37 (and hence have a following. Me , I like most of the stuff in the Czech Republic.
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted March 17, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 17, 2012 I must admit that after being in the engine room and the cab of a 749 plus the first itme we saw them back in 2004 on a double headedengineers train heading throug Prah Hlvani we were hooked on them! Maybe we do a line up of 749's tomorrow althoug we dont have so many completed. Ian

RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted March 18, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 18, 2012 Here are couple of much longer video sequences with a bit of background music taken today at the East Grinstead show. These are the first sequences I have done on the ipad so hopefully future ones will get better! This second one shows an actual sequence based on the prototypicla operation at this station a few years ago. Ian

George Hudson
Thanks, also excellent. I must try to see this on the exhibition circuit, like probably a lot of the audience, I am unfettered by any knowledge of the prototype! Andrew
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted March 23, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 23, 2012 Smrzovka will be at the Ely show in May and Wimbledon in November this year. Ian
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted May 1, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 1, 2012 (edited) Our next show is with Smrzovka at the Ely show in a week and a half. Hope to do a little bit of work on some of the stock such as weathering and maybe complete the glazing in the 184 railcar now that most of the curved glazing is done. It would also be nice to get some of the finer detailing on the class 120 railcars such as the wing mirrors. Not all of them have these though. The stock now has a new stock box with a few spare slots for new items when we get back to the Czech Republic. Also Would like to get the Microtrains working properly. For some reason these couplings work fine in N scale but on TT they don't despite being centred and levelled correctly. SNCF stephen
I can only echo everyone else's comments about the layout in that it looks great. What an interesting prototype too! I hope to see some more pictures when it comes out next year. Stephen

Mike I would love to say yes but I was typing on a small screen when I uploaded those photos!! Must go back to Smrzovka as its the bar at the end of the station building in the photo above that started us off on modelling this location - excellent Conrad dark beer (Tmavay pivo). RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted December 31, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 31, 2012 Another class 754 'goggles' post loco has been added to the fleet. This fine Roco TT scale model puts to shame all the hard work we have done by building resin body locos. This one is in the current CD blue and grey livery. It was purchased from Pragomodels in Prague. I was hoping to get a DCC sound fitted one but they didn't have any. A couple of the brand new Tillig coaches in the CD blue and grey have also been obtained to run behind this loco. These coaches are a vast improvement over the older Tillig ones. The couplings will be changed for Micro trains ones in due course
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted January 6, 2013 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 6, 2013 Today I was going to work on ROUNDHOUSE but ended up fitting Microtrains couplings to the recently purhcesed ready to run stock plus a few other items purchased previously. RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted January 6, 2013 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) Here is a Kuen double deck coach. These were often run in pairs with a single deck BD at weekends on some branches near Prague a few yesrs ago. They may still be running but didnt see any on our recent trip. The inner ends of the 2 coaches retains the more modern TT couplers whilst outer ends have Microtrains couplers. RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted January 6, 2013 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 6, 2013 On our recent trip I managed to get the following video of a Goggles on railcar trailers leaving Praha Masarykovo. I thought this was an unusual working but I now believe this is common at the moment. These locos have been re engined so dont have the older noisier engines any more.
