Not railway related, but READ the description here, and for heaven's sake, WHAT is going on with those photos?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VERY-EARLY-MK5-FORD-CORTINA-L-BLUE-1979-/291043987921?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item43c392d1d1

I wonder how he intends to stop buyers from racing the car after they have bought it.

PLEASE NOTE THIS WILL NOT BE SOLD TO BANGER RACERS SO DO NOT BID IF THATS WHAT YOU WANT IT FOR COS I WILL NOT SELL YOU IT AT THE END OF THE SALE

Ah .. this is an example of Germanic weathering believe it or not. Germany recently adopted the following word and it became 'Anglicism of the Year 2012'. Obviously, this use is new, but completely apt ...sh!tstorm

Unfortunately the English version will never appear on Countdown as there are only 2 vowels

Looks a bit like the car that used to appear in 'Keeping up Appearances'! :)

Bought between 1976 and 79, kept in box except to take photo.  So how did the little pixies sneak in and daub silver paint over the buffers and hook then?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAINLINE-LOCO-CLASS-45-DIESEL-BOXED-FROM-NEW-UN-USED-MADE-1976-9-/380804610774?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item58a9b93ad6

Here's another, in 'perfect' condition, so where's the cab glazing gone, then?

The silver ghost also got to the suspension as well! ;)

Some fine description here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-R2984-CLASS-43-HST-NETWORK-RAIL-NEW-MEASUREMENT-TRAIN-PACK-FOR-REPAIR-/141152440966?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item20dd575286

"Externally they are both in very good condition and apart from the missing buffers, light units and power car roof fans - they are ready to run."

"THIS IS A VERY RARE OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE THIS HST SET UNBOXED AND WITH COSMETIC DAMAGE."

Very good condition apart from having a number of very obvious bits missing! And remember, it's a 'rare opportunity' to get them in a trashed state like this!

And from the same seller:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-BR-CLASS-43-SUPER-DETAILED-HST-BODY-43300-EAST-COAST-LIVERY-SPARES-REPAIR-/370974217650?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item565fc955b2

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-BR-CLASS-43-SUPER-DETAILED-HST-BODY-43055-EAST-MIDLANDS-SPARES-REPAIR-/141152438264?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item20dd5747f8

Both of which are in 'Excellent Condition' - well, apart from the fact that both of them have a large and very obvious dent in the exhaust deflector!

I wonder what 'poor condition' would look like?

Not madness as such, just such a shame someone's been busy with solvents all over the buffer beams of this otherwise gorgeous and decent value heavyweight Brit.

Wode is me.

Interestingly(?) he's already sold this loco before.

It now says this on the description which wasn't there before:

"Very small brass parts missing from piston block."

Did a previous buyer return it because the valve gear had an undisclosed problem?

There's quite a few problems with it, not just the valve gear or the ambitious asking price.....!
