Like someone paid £100 each for 6 of them including this one (plus whatever fees). in July 2020. https://auctions.specialauctionservices.com/m/lot-details/index/catalog/69/lot/34321

RMweb Gold Bucoops Posted Tuesday at 20:52 RMweb Gold Share Posted Tuesday at 20:52 This annoys me - listed as brand new. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126532376306 In the second picture, the threads for the wheels don't look particularly brand new? Look at the first picture - when you zoom in, you can see the staple holes where it was closed originally. 3

SteveyDee68 Posted Tuesday at 22:26 Share Posted Tuesday at 22:26 (edited) Looking for something and this popped up… Not quite sure how Go$turd thinks he can put a price of £89.50 upon such a piece of an item … he does accurately describe it as an Airfix kit on top of a Triang bogie, but waxes lyrical about “sprung buffers” and “fine scale couplings”! He mentions “one front handrail stanchion is broken” but doesn’t say anything about a badly fitting cab roof or the damaged front edge of the cab! I mean, for only £79.80 (including £5.00 postage) you could have this instead… At least the 48DS looks as if it is meant to have four wheels! Steve S Edited Wednesday at 23:08 by SteveyDee68 Stupid predictive text changed “only” to “over” and I didn’t notice! 3 1

Cheers Darius I've a few volume 2 issues... 🤪 You can tell the difference, the originals are on a rather matt paper, the repro one is on a high gloss paper throughout. One* has a review of the then newly introduced BR 10800 diesel, but thought that there would never be an RTR model**... https://railsofsheffield.com/blogs/news/bargain-Heljan-br-nbl-10800-locomotives * Vol. 2. No. 9. Mar-April 1951. Pages 52-54, including a scaled profile and end elevation diagram. ** "We are likely to see many more of these units in the next few years***... Whether we see them in model railways is another thing altogether" *** Alas 10800 was the only one of its kind, though similar beasts in the form of the Class 15/16 locos were perpetrated in the Pilot Scheme... I believe that the box is the size it is so you could store the completed model in it afterwards! Perhaps its another example of buying a container of air...
