RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted November 5, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 5, 2012 If someone has the matching loco in mint condition without the box then fair enough but weren't/aren't locos meant to be run.James May rant coming on....

RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted November 6, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 6, 2012 Went for just under £100 or just over if you include P&P. A lot of money just for a box. Hope our friends in the North West didn't buy it, god knows what superpriced offering will be along soon! Mike.
RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted November 6, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 6, 2012 Not railway related but this caught my eye. Terrible spelling which drives me nuts. What exactly is a restoration spear? http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4d065e30b8 It should be spare(s), typo or the dreaded spell check strikes again? RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted November 6, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 6, 2012 I'd think about paying about 2/3rds of that sort of money if it had a half decent chassis, but not that load of rubbish! Ah well it is from our friend, who still has this load of overpriced cr*p for sale (7 years now). Surely the bin must beckon for it by now! http://www.ebay.co.u...=item45fd68d591

RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted November 6, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 6, 2012 Weathered Brit, only taken out of the box for photo. cromptonnut
I'd love to know the name of the professional resprayer as I will make a point to avoid using them... that's not weathering. This is more like weathering (my own work, not perfect but certainly more realistic!)

RMweb Premium Barry O Posted November 7, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 7, 2012 Looks like it has had a respray into grey to me! Take one can of dirt - spray and then bung bits of white and mud on it........ First thing to do is to strip it and repaint before its reweathered. By the time Brits got really dirty nameplates were optional!
Il Grifone
Take one can of dirt - spray and then bung bits of white and mud on it........ First thing to do is to strip it and repaint before its reweathered. By the time Brits got really dirty nameplates were optional! I think the poor thing really needs to be put down! (It would be difficult to get all the cr muck off the body and a new body and tender (if you can get them) would cost nearly as much as a brand new model.) Just had a lucky escape. I was looking at the exorbitantly overpriced 'Flatiron' (£100 would still be too much IMHO) and suddenly found myself on the 'Commit to buy' page! - Rapid exit by closing the tab.
