Not a railway-related one, but just goes to show it's not the only hobby where people will take the urine - puts me in mind of the 'free with magazine' signal boxes...

"THIS HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER RARITY FROM OUR HUGE STOCK OF RARE VINYL, CD & OTHER MUSIC MEMORABILLIA. "

So highly sought-after and such a rarity that it's available free of charge from the band's website! http://www.marillion.com/music.htm You couldn't make it up...

Want to see one that never that's never given up on!.. Our friend from Cartmel has had this load of c**p up for sale at this ludicrous price for over six years now! http://www.ebay.co.u...=item45fd68d591

Furthermore, you may also end up handling stolen goods:

PART OF A SMALL COLLECTION AVAILABLE OF BLANK BODY SHELLS THAT WERE REMOVED FROM THE FACTORY WHEN IT CLOSED BY A VERY ANGRY CHIEF DRAFTSMAN !!!!!

just love this bit he put in ;One coach is not a wheel.?.

I guess it is someone whose first language isn't English, attempting to advise that a wheel is missing.

Furthermore, you may also end up handling stolen goods:

A browse through his listings produces lots of 'bargains'!

This one (he's got two of these - the other is 'cheaper' , presumably for no box or maybe because it's thrown together):

and for the centenary:

(or you might prefer this one http://www.google.co...ved=0CFYQ8gIwAg - You get TWO kits in a presentation box!)

Must get on with mine, but I had problems getting the two halves of the hull to fit together properly (not unusual with Revell kits - they do/did some nice H0 static locomotives however)

I would at least expect it to be motorised for that money. Mind you it is from one of our regular nut-job dealers!

I think that I'll pass on this one. Best wait for the Heljan version.

I paid only £2 for a made up one only last year, and it came with a made Ratio bolster wagon.

I have just seen this, purporting to be a Bachmann S&D 7F catalogue no. 31-011, which it clearly isn't. Can anyone identify it? Should the seller go to gaol for misrepresentation?!!

JE

That's a Golden Arrow kit on a Hornby 8F chassis unless I'm very much mistaken. Pretty well done mind you, but the porosity in the boiler barrel give it away.

Correct. I've just compared it with my Bach one and the motion bears no resemblance whatsoever to the proper one.

Surprising, because he is a 'dealer' and I would have thought that he would know better. It can't obviously be a Bachmann, just look at the tender drawbar.

Interesting that nobody has put in a bid.

I agree though, that it's quite nicely done.

Kitbuilt horseboxes do sometimes sell in that price range. Odd isn't it, how horseboxes tend to invoke special feelings in modellers :-)

He's sold other D&S horseboxes in that price range.

I've still got an old Hornby Dublo horsebox somewhere which I seem to hanging on to as a keepsake!
