Thank the gods for sash windows. Not only could I ventilate the front room, I could fish the offending object out of the fire and chuck it in the front garden sharpish.

Were you interrogated by Miss Riding Hood thereafter re the pong??

Possibly by application of one of those big copper-headed soldering irons, applied to sensitive parts of the person? 🤔

It was a long time ago, another life almost. Miss Riding Hood would have been about ten years old at the time, so that's a strong no.

I think if I was paying over a grand for four 6 wheel coaches they'd be of the brass built variety...

I think that if I was paying over a grand for four six wheel coaches I could expect to be chased around the garden by a slightly unhinged young lady armed with a sword....

That's some looney bidding going on 😳

I've put them on my watch list just to see if they sell. They started at a reasonable £99.99.

Something amiss there, I’ll be listing my GWR ones at that rate.

Interesting, the two main drivers of the insane bidding, one has a feedback score of just three, the other has hidden their feedback as private.

I smell a rat, the seller will be putting in a non paying bidder report I reckon.

At the rate the bidding is going on those coaches, I expect we will see quite a few sets coming on the market.

Eventually, once the got to have it at any price brigade all have a set of ten, prices will level out and then fall.

It's the same for most things.

Truly bananas (I’ve been watching the same listing.) Surely it’s approaching the sort of price one could pay a professional model maker to build a set of ‘authentic’ LNER six-wheeler coaches!

I had the same problem with all my Ferrari's!

I almost choked when I saw this listing, wishing I'd bought some now.

I didn't get any, and I'm not looking for them now!

I got some Hornby ones when they were being flogged off cheap instead...

There's another four coach set on E-bay, SECR this time.

I have clearly missed something about these carriages?

I have clearly missed out as well. The LNER set is nearly as much as I paid for a 2.0l Volkswagen Golf estae at the beginning of the month! If I had bought some they would have paid for a car. Oh well.
