That looks like a seagull shat on one end

Must have been a ruddy big gull.

Or a flock of 'em!

The soldering iron collection took me to this:*

*Not actually from the Titanic.

Every home should have one!

If they wanted to extend the tackiness, they should also have a Britannic rivet and an Olympic* rivet to complete the set.

* The only member of the class to be scrapped rather than sinking, though it put up a spirited attempt when it rammed HMS Hawke in 1911...

OK, I count one rivet!

According to the description, it's the correct dimensions, materials and finish, but I'm not sure about the radius of the dome.

I'm not buying one until someone can come up with a really accurate drawing, preferably dated February 1911...

I've a sinking feeling that it might be iron filings cast in resin, like those coal locomotives you can buy in gifte shoppes...  🤪

Those Objet d'tatt might be made of coal, but don't be tempted to chuck one in the fire, it stinks the room out*

Thank the gods for sash windows. Not only could I ventilate the front room, I could fish the offending object out of the fire and chuck it in the front garden sharpish.

The fact that it didn't sink led to the Titanic being described as 'unsinkable'.

In slightly more troubling news, I've been given an offer on the truly awful Christmas loco.

It's still overpriced junk.

Yes, if Titanic hadn't tried to avoid the iceberg and hit it head on instead, it would probably have made New York with a crumpled bow and a couple of flooded compartments.

Ififif....

I blame Captain Smith.  He was driving Olympic when it hit Hawke.

… and the signed specification sheet guaranteeing it will not shear when hit by a lump of ice.
