Go on! You can tell us! How many beer tokens was it?? 😎

I don’t drink, nor does the friend who initially bought it, but that purchase led us both down a rabbit-hole of actively looking for weird, wonderful, and downright horrifying RTR repaints.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the guy who made the original repaint was drunk when he did it though!

Oh gosh…

Hornby SENTINEL

But not as we know it…

The “madness” is (currently) in the state of the paint finish.

However, I predict some bidding madness before too long - after all, it has a face!

UPDATE

It has a stablemate!

Wow!

Is that...

Mr Blobby?

The other interesting thing about Mr Blobby is that the "customiser" has applied a whacking big D tension lock coupling in place of the more modern small TLC the loco originally came with!

And removed the coupling entirely at the "face" end, fitting the Hornby supplied cosmetic chevron piece instead, a bit pointless for a Thomas environment!

Perhaps Thomas prefers a big coupling??

“In fact, Edgar and Toby said that they preferred working with female engines, because they had ‘nicer couplings’”

1:55 for that exact quote

As Benny Hill might say

"They've got Big Buffers!"

(Like Hattons put on their 16"Barclay, "Katie"...)

(trimmed down the link excess)

Looking at "Item Specifics"

I counted the wheels on the loco and it's definitely NOT a streamlined B17.....

🤪

Whats with the Queen Mary anchor chain for a 3 link coupling... ideal for shorting out pointwork

Thats been bid up by prospective buyers. I didn't look for the starting price, but it looks like its an example of buyer cupidity rather than vendor greed.

Opening bid was a perfectly reasonable £18.99.

"Let's go behind the engine shed and do a little shunting!?" said Thomas. Annie/Percy [delete as appropriate] blushed and giggled!"
