RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted November 12, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 12, 2011 This is sad. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bluebell-railway-0-6-0-terrier-loco-stepney-maunsell-brake-compo-coach-LTD-1000-/270851847128?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3f100733d8 Presumably the original sale brought a benefit to the preservation society, but I can't imagine the price was anywhere near that being asked here as a starting figure. I'm also a bit puzzled by the date on the pictures, not having realised Hornby Maunsells were around in 2006. Any ebayer looking for a Terrier with a BSK could get them for about £100 less in other liveries, of course.

RMweb Premium Neil Posted November 12, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 12, 2011 Now up to £92! http://offer.ebay.co...em=110772912153 Now at £107 and with six days eighteen hours left to go, for a wagon? Good news I suppose as there are at least two people who seem unaffected by the global recession.

RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted November 13, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 13, 2011 137 now... ........unbelievable! It seems to be a nice item but not worth that I think. Didn't somebody do a whitemetal kit for these JXAs?

RMweb Premium petethemole Posted November 13, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 13, 2011 He has another, 3 days behind, reaching a similar price with 2 of the same bidders. However it's listed with the same photo. I'm inclined to think that this guy has a reputation for good work and the bidders know this.
RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted November 13, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 13, 2011 Anyone on here looking for a red Jinty? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-OO-LOCOMOTIVE-JINTY-TANK-LOCO-LONDON-TRANSPORT-/400255124332?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item5d3110836c
muddys-blues
I know the guy selling this model. He is a VERY good modeller and he may have even mastered his own kits. Tony Hi is this wagon model from a Southern based EMU layout that was in Model Rail some years ago "I can't recall the layout name properly" but the layout I remember was something relating to Sheppey or the Isle of Dogs. RMweb Premium Neil Posted November 13, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 13, 2011 I know the guy selling this model. He is a VERY good modeller and he may have even mastered his own kits. Tony I'm sure he is. Though it's difficult to tell from the e-bay photo (a bit small) it looks to be well made, painted and weathered. In one sense perhaps the £147 the pair of wagons are now at represents a fair price (time, skill and effort) but I'm surprised that someone is able and happy to pay what will be the best part of £300 for a pair of wagons. They do look particularly nice, but if I wanted to pay that sort of money for a second one I would want to see a picture of it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sheerness-steel-scrap-wagon-PXA-/110774756739?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item19cab0a583 The pictures look to be one and the same shot?...but then it is a market...! RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted November 14, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 14, 2011 I haven't sold anything for a couple of years now, but when I have 2 or more of the same item (if selling separately) then I simply print a number '1' '2' '3' etc and include in each photo, just in case there are minor differences I hadn't noticed. Not rocket science and hopefully gives buyers confidence they're bidding on the right picture and received the right item.
