Wow!  I'd forgotten those ancient Rovex battery box controllers with the forward/reverse switch on top.

I doubt if you can still get those old batteries.

You can still get 6v Lantern batteries which are the ones that go in the big Triang battery box

eg ebay:  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224583186791

The ones that are difficult are the 126 4.5v bell batteries, that you need 3 of for the later RP.40 battery controller

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115575592555

I sold a heavily modified version of one of those, as part of a Princess Elizabeth set, a few years back. The set was bought for my brother and I in 1954.  Times were still hard then, and Dad soon got fed up with buying new batteries for us, so he bought a transformer then added connectors to the controller.  He also added a speed control with a hand wound resistance coil.  A few years later we were given a Jinty which ran much faster, so to get it to run slower a second coil was added.

Here's some ebay madness, anyone would have to be mad to pay £65 for this sad collection of derelict Triang bits and bobs...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285233138955

Or you could set up your own Barry Scrapyard with this lot...

That triang bunch of old tat: I would have turned my nose  up at that lot 50 years ago! Tri-ang Standard track? Just awful. Tri-ang Series three? Dont get me started. It's gotta be Super 4 all the

Way!

There are no useful parts on it. God knows how or why it's ended up like that, but, surely the only place it belongs is a bin.

It could be part of a genuine scrapyard scene, with blokes working it over with their gas axes....

A fiver cheaper than the ebay placeholder battery but "Stock Status: ***Out of Stock*** ", which was what it was the previous time I was looking to see if 126 batteries were still available.

The interesting thing about the ebay battery is that its a "battery holder" for 3 C type cells, which might be more appropriate for running a Triang train set!  At those prices, I'd be inclined to get some C battery holders and make my own replacement 126 style batteries...

That dokafority must’ve been goin’ ‘elluva speed when it ‘it that track cleaner!

At least the knurled wheels would a: give it plenty of grip and b: help the cleaning effect by filing the railhead. On the other hand, it would be ruddy noisy!

Given "b", I would suggest that the best cleaning effect would be to run the ensemble with the dokafority leading the way. At full throttle...

Advisory: Wear ear defenders!

Looks like it might be out of loading gauge too!

The wheels are lower one end so wouldn't the non-powered end be up in the air? maybe it's for inclines.

Its odd that its not illustrated sideways when upright.  I expect there's enough slop in the construction for the non-powered end to stay in contact with the rails.

Also, there's a Triang coupling at the non-powered end, and a Dublo coupling on the motor bogie, though that is clearly a Triang one!
