Old King Cole in a latex catsuit would be even more bizarre!

There's definitely something wrong with you lot...

Old King Cole was a merry old soul,

He wore his gimp suit with glee...

What happens when he calls for his fiddlers three?

I suggest we draw a line under this before we get banned and the thread locked...

Don't want to be put on the naughty step, or worse still, sent off for "re-education".

I suppose I had better look for some overpriced rubbish on eBay, I keep finding lots of it, but it's outside of the model railways and trains category.

Must try harder.

Here you go, I've never seen one at this price:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314218094740?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=2pj7iacsrua&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=3qkTzGg7QRS&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

More than three times what you would expect to pay.

Mine was £24 plus postage. Boxed, good runner, no sign of damage or years of hard work.

It does feature an: "... easy-to-use coupling to loco". That must add a few quid?

Two things...
1. That is the price you pay for a fully engineered 5" or 7.5" working steam model. Not just a static toy!

2. You only need the bit before the ? as the link https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233869013183 will work the same ;-)

Does this count as “madness”?

I watched a Hornby J94 with a starting bid of £40 out of interest - it’s the version with the high coal bunker, so not really of interest to me, but useful to see what it might sell for in order to gauge bids for items I am interested in…

(Legitimate research!)

It didn’t sell - unsold at opening bid of £40…

It’s been relisted … opening bid of £47?!

I’m going to watch again, but why increase the price? It’s definitely more than 10% “inflation”!!

HOURS OF FUN!

If I was bashing an 0-6-0 into a Fowler 0-6-0, a GWR Collet 0-6-0 is not where I would start from!

In days of yore, people often went in the opposite direction. A Triang 3F tender loco and an Airfix City of Truro kit could be turned into an improbable copy of a Dean Goods...

You beat me to it posting that one! 😀

It's also rather odd that the loco has a Tri-ang motorised chassis and the tender appears also to be motorised, this time by Hornby. A real bitsa.
