I wouldn't have used the letters l & o personally, another vowel is far more suitable.

It's one of those things that's rare because no one wants it!

I would think £50 would buy the whole set with change....

The seller has quite a few other overpriced items on offer, for example

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-Dublo-32081-D1-Tank-Wagon-Esso-OO-HO-Gauge-/232327633611?hash=item3617ce5acb:g:qukAAOSw-K9ZEGQk

One of these, the commonest Dublo tank wagon, would only be worth that sort of money in excellent condition, not rusty with bits missing.

There's this one from eBay's suggestions

Needs LMS branding and numbers. A bit Flatironish don't you think?

I was thinking it looked rather like an ex-Highland railway Struan Banker.  Also, in spite if there being one too many pairs of driving wheels, there is a certain resemblance to an ex-Caledonian 0-4-4T.

Here's my maroon N2:

Graham Varley is a professional modelmaker who has built a great many LMS coaches. I know he has built for one or two members on here. I'll email him and ask if they are his - I know he didn't sign or mark his work for a long time.

Any news?

"Some light marks to the rooves, "

Quite possibly from where the seller rested the bogies of the other carriages on them?

Referring back to John's post above, I heard back from Graham Varley. They are his work (I had an inkling I recognised some of them from a BRM article many years ago) but were painted by Brian Badger and certainly had nothing to do with Larry or Derek Lawrence. Graham has been in touch with the seller to point this out, but he hasn't changed the description. No surprise there.

If anybody does fancy a punt at those prices, they will be absolutely top quality.
