royaloak
I went to my bank to use the ATM machine and it delivered four of the new plastic fivers. Now do I put them on e-bay or hang on to the couple of old ones and sell them when the time comes? It all depends on the serial numbers, if they are AA01 then you might make a bit, but if not you might get £4 for each one.

Il Grifone
Probably just a 'flash in the pan' like first day covers for stamps. We had a first issue pound coin in a special card card display. This got damaged, so after several years it was worth precisely one pound, but devalued considerably in purchasing power from its initial value of course. EDIT Coin collectors are very fussy about condition. High prices are only likely for uncirculated notes. The Royal Mint already supplies special issues at a premium price.... Il Grifone
Which bank was this? NatWest ATMs only deal in tenners and twenties. The ATM at our local Tesco Express will supply fivers, but still only the paper kind I believe.

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted September 24, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 24, 2016 Which bank was this? NatWest ATMs only deal in tenners and twenties. Nationwide, but of the two inside and one outside machines usually only one (inside) is loaded with fivers.
