Doing a bit of research on Iron Minks and was suggested that I read 'All about Iron Minks' by Lewis,Lloyd, Metcalfe & Miller. A quick look on Amazon finds these

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B000ZLY0TQ/ref=sr_1_1_twi_pap_1_olp?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1462253907&sr=1-1&keywords=all+about+iron+minks

And on eBay?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/All-About-GWR-Iron-Minks-Railway-Book-Lloyd-Miller-/351682430067?hash=item51e1e80473:g:oHoAAOSwUV9Wn-Et

But it does have free postage and has been reduced.

I should add that there are two more copies on eBay, both at £7.95 with free p+p.

I've seen at least one case of the same copy of the same book from the same seller being advertised for wildly different prices on Ebay and on Amazon (IIRC). Needless to say I bought the cheaper one.

Seller "speedyhen" sells on both Amazon and eBay. eBay marginally cheaper on some Irwell Press books but not always.

It certainly looks to have a bit missing....not exactly "legless", but.... ;)

I was almost tempted to "ask a question" using the form below the photo....but thought better of it! :scratchhead:

Perhaps we all should.

It's about time some of these people, both private and commercial, were taken to task.

But then again, life's too short.

You'd think they would raid one of these? Better than the current listing, which now appears to have lost the 'as new' status.

Question asked...

"The item has a wheelset and axlebox missing - how can you describe it as 'Like New'?"

It is as new. This is Liverpool after all......

(With obvious apologies for stereotyping Merseyside residents.)

On my weekly or so trawl for Network Rail stuff, I came across this gem..........

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-GWR-27XX-loco-with-Network-Rail-Maintenance-Coach-with-Layout-camera-/311604878974?hash=item488d191e7e:g:QAwAAOSw9ZdXKG2Z

Cheers,

None of the 2721 class were preserved...the last was withdrawn C1952.... ;)

The seller does note that it is an "odd combination" though...

As per the photos. My first reaction on seeing this was 'what an odd combination', and it certainly is that. It was only when I took it to my repairer that I became aware of it's function. The carriage contains a layout camera and the loco is just something to push it around. The two are electrically linked. I have track tetsed the combination and the locomotive runs well with a working red light at the rear. The clear bulb in the front of the carriage illuminates the track. Whether the camera works I do not know but I do not have any reason to believe that it does not. I also do not know how it interphases with a computer, presumably it unplugs from the carriage. It is not 'Blue Tooth', as far as we could tell. Data storage would appear to be in the camera itself but I have absolutely zero knowledge of this type of thing. I have done my very best to report all that I know about this. It is a sold as seen item.

I offered £25 for the kit for a laugh, and his counter offer was £250 less the wheels? I thought £250 was the price anyway?

It is now offered at £200.

If he waits for too long, SEF/Branchlines will reintroduce the Nucast NC043 with a NS chassis kit  for around £90.

Here we go again

Wait until it reaches £50.

The seller is definitely on this Forum, judging by the fairly quick changes he has made to the spec, e.g. removing the Ultrascale wheels shortly after I remarked that they were wrong for the class, and that frames could only be had from AGW....
