RMweb Premium kevinlms Posted April 5, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 5, 2016 (edited) The description says "Made out of tin, very well done. Wonderful details, the flying Scotsman as it was." So which statement are you questioning? The first three words look accurate. Dunno about the rest, I haven't got that far. Horsetan
....The first three words look accurate. Four, surely? Dunno about the rest, I haven't got that far. Yes, well, I'm a slow reader myself.
RMweb Premium Grovenor Posted April 5, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 5, 2016 Can't verify the fourth word without buying it! I seem to recollect this coming up a year or so ago. Regards
RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted April 5, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 5, 2016 Not a model railway item but just had a strange experience. Trying to get hold of a docking station/charger for an old PDA, found someone who has two of them on Ebay for £25.00 BIN. So I decided, considering that this is very old tech and probably very slow shifting to make a Best Offer of £20.00 and see where we go from there. In 36 hours there has been no response whatsoever to my offer but the BIN has now been hiked up to a shade short of £40.00!!!! Utterly bizzare.... Bodmin Bob
The description says "Made out of tin, very well done. Wonderful details, the flying Scotsman as it was." Well if that is the Flying Scotsman 'as it was' then no wonder they had to spend £4M on it to bring it back up to scratch!
Ruffnut Thorston
Can't verify the fourth word without buying it! I seem to recollect this coming up a year or so ago. Regards These are a "product line" and there are possibly hundreds of them. I myself have seen them for sale in shops, museums (NOT the NRM! ), and Market Stalls around the North West....England that is!
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted April 7, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 7, 2016 What does he think he has to make it that price I wonder. Easy - 'the oo gague engines have been fitted with digital chips at extra expense'. Skill (and spelling) like that must be worth something - not that I'm sure what.

RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted April 8, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) Returning to my Best Offer and price hike scenario for a moment, exactly the same thing happened with a second item from the same seller I made a Best Offer on. To add to the mystery, twenty four hours after both my Best Offers expired (without any response whatsoever from the seller) the BIN prices went back down again. Sounds a bit like Ryanair (and other) flight pricing, show a bit of interest and hike the price.
