EBay madness

Now, I like a good project coach from time to time - Indeed I've got quite a range of FGW Mk3s sitting on my workbench waiting to be completed from a Mini Buffet to the Night Riviera rake, two versions of the TS-D, the ex HST buffets to a TC and am usually after the odd few more as I very much like my Dynamic Lines livery. But...

Near Mint condition - only the odd small mark. Yeah, like a painted strip right on the First Great Western branding and the odd glue mark on the Dynamic lines. Worth £45? Not really if you paint or put something right over the branding. Mint Condition? Not really!

Described as new or brand new five times, so it obviously is not.

Why do wancers on ebay do this. Just be honest. Or, are they thick?

Apart from the admitted missing back coupling - which isn't because he's got the tender the wrong way round, the chimney is missing and something is hooky with one of the tender wheelsets... Should there be a coupling on the front?

...and these are usually the ones that put in acres of white space you have to scroll through to get to the seller information, returns policy and question/comment sections...

EBay, Exchange and Mart, Amazon, etc., don't have forums. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Ebay have simiar called discussion boards...http://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Discussion-Boards/ct-p/13 I once did a post with a mild criticism of Ebay on and was quickly shot to pieces by the Ebay fan boys.... makes Hornby threads look like a tea party.

Just looking in and I spotted you can even discuss the fact your cat wont touch the cat-nip bought from ebay.  http://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Buyer-Central/I-have-a-nuisance-seller-who-keeps-sending-me-abusive-messages/m-p/4211444#U4211444

It's a scary place.

Ah but it's "SIMPLY STUNNING"!

More seriously, this serial description offender won't ever change so long as there are folks out there who will pay daft 'collector' prices.

Surely this has to be a joke

I don't even have to follow the link to recognise Gosturd hard at work in his bunker of filth and deviancy....

With only a BIN price there is no chance of a realistic offer - really disappointed as the plywood alone should be worth a couple of ££ - the rest is the same place as where the plywood should end up .... on the fire.

Even I have better "layouts" than that!

But it is what eBay is all about - some idot will think it is an auction game and keep pressing the buttons.

Not junk in any way,but a bit pricey in my opinion            eBay item number   321697459969

Nice....a Loco and 6 Pullman coaches, DCC fitted, etc. etc.

A shame the listing doesn't state in Big Letters that it is a complete train....most will think it is the Loco only! (Yes, and named "Devon Belle"....not everyone is an expert!)

With all the lights lit up on the front, it must be a Royal Devon Belle.... ;)

I don't think that these locos had red lenses on the lights for tail lamps though!

It is missing two lights front and rear anyway.

For those of you who remember the Americanized Black 5, I have new listings from that seller...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hornby-OO-GAUGE-0-6-0-T-STEAM-ENGINE-CUSTOM-PAINT-AND-DECAL-/121612906807?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c50b1b137

A J83 with a new livery and a new cab!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hornby-OO-GAUGE-4-6-0-STEAM-ENGINE-TENDER-53-CUSTOM-DECAL-/261836720416?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cf6af4920

A "RITISH RAILWAYS" Patriot with almost the same fittings as the Black 5, so oddly Americanized...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hornby-OO-GAUGE-4-6-0-STEAM-ENGINE-AND-TENDER-CUSTOM-PAINT-UNDECORATED-/291423390397?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43da300abd

A Triang Flying Scotsman...I think...

and finally...whatever this is...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hornby-OO-GAUGE-0-6-0-STEAM-ENGINE-AND-TENDER-CUSTOM-PAINT-UNDECORATED-/291423378827?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43da2fdd8b

But the items are in California, and they so it's hardly surprising that they were all localized. Whoever is selling them is probably just a US dealer.

Looks like that American cousin of Sir Dinadan.  Sir Dingadong?
