RMweb Gold farren Posted December 11, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 11, 2013 well he won't except my offer of 24.50 the valve gear looks bent on the right side too
84A
Yes, bent and I believe part missing on the right side - there should be an arm extending vertically upwards to the notch in the frames. It almost looks like it has been dropped for the cab to have ended up in that state. Such a shame, as I imagine it was a nice model at one point. RMweb Gold RFS Posted December 11, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 11, 2013 I have one and it's a very nice model indeed. I bought mine new last year from an authorised Hornby retailer and it didn't cost as much as Rails want for this broken one!
RMweb Premium Gary H Posted December 11, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 11, 2013 (edited) Very expensive for a defective model, considering there are others on Ebay far cheaper. I just offered them £35 but it was auto refused, thank god! Just to show they're not the only ones who can extract the urine! OK, that was their last chance, £35. 10p Edited December 11, 2013 by Gary H
Horsetan
I think we should offer progressively lower, rather than higher amounts. Think we should start at....ooh...£15 and work downwards from there....
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted December 11, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 11, 2013 The limited run of these sold out very quickly, to the chagrin of more than one RMwebber, so I expected this to shift quickly, but no bids and it's finished soon. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221328903635?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 They are nice, I can confirm.

Ruffnut Thorston
The certificate has probably been "nicked" to cover another (repainted?) model. Possibly another model that "They" had in stock missing the certificate?

Is there anything of Lima worth £39-95p? If there is I have never come across it. Fartmel again! Oh and listed in Finescale. Ha Ha Ha ha ha etc etc Just noticed he has listed two of them. C&WR
Dunno, andytrains. Since getting back into the hobby I've picked up quite a few Lima bits & pieces for around the £40 mark. Mind you these have all been locomotives (and one DMU) and included postage. I like them all very much & have had a lot of entertainment detailing them. These old motors also seem to go on, and on, and on and pull good length trains while they're at it. However I wouldn't pay £40 for a wagon by pretty much any manufacturer, even if brand new or if it was something I really wanted!

B-ugger! I have two old Batmobiles, but both were very much loved and played with so there is 1.5 Batmen, a headless Robin, the missiles are in urgent need of a replen, and they are "weathered" to a standard that our friends on eBay would describe as "professional" but we would think of as "a bl-oody mess". Guess I will just let The Small Controller continue enjoying them as much as I did...

84A
The RRP for a new Bachmann 30-160 Rural Commuter set is £99.99. Why would anyone buy this for a tenner more: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-30-160-Rural-Commuter-set-with-Class-105-2-car-DMU-in-BR-green-/151187373488?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2333783db0 Also, I'm not sure how these `points' are going to fit in with the rest of my layout: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRI-ANG-RAILWAYS-R101-MkZA-LEFT-HAND-POINTS-BOXED-c1960-/251377578646?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3a87457296 Thought there was a bargain to be had here - then I saw the description : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-SCOTSMAN-SET-/291036590456?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item43c321f178 Struggling to see how a `self adhesive ginger beard' would deal with my 1 in 40 incline...
