Peterem
Not surprising given the turnover in ethnic eateries in the UK. I regularly pass a place that was a Chinese establishment for many years, thanks to which they had an ornate green ceramic tile awning in classic pagoda style over the entrance. This became less relevant when the establishment underneath changed to a Mexican place but kept the awning. Eventually they had a makeover - no more awning but sombrero signs everywhere, including a line of them etched on to the windows at the front. The place is now (currently?) a Thai Restaurant, but it took them quite a while to take down the neon sombrero/Mexican Kitchen sign and clear the etched sombreros off the windows. Changed again now though. Peter, Sidcup

Peterem
Another translation fail from our friends at AliExpress... I'm sure there are people willing to pay £2.47 for that experience. 3

"Wading in tidal mudflats feeling" might be a bit better, though the smell can be similar...

Speaking from experience, the beer must have been utter carp, then. Totally unusual for morris men (or women!) to enter a pub and not imbibe. We found a pub in Liverpool last year at the JMO; so good we went back three times. The last time, we did one of our dances actually inside. What a publican like that doesn't realise is that morris dancers are usually quite copious drinkers; He's probably lost a lot of sales, there! 3 4
