That site seems to only include current vehicles.  I have keyed in the number of one of my previous cars and it also says "Registration number not found"

That would suggest that it could be available, for anyone to purchase, should they wish to.

(letter)MS was issued for Stirling/shire from 1903 onwards

Whether "LMS (numbers) T" was ever valid is another matter.

T was 78/9 as a suffix but the prefix letter might not have been on L MS at that time.

But, as a separate point, just “LMS (numbers)” would take you up into the Compounds in the LMS number scheme.

F was the only suffix letter letter used with LMS so LMS264T would never have been issued unless anyone has subsequently had it.  I thought you could check the DVLA personalised plate option to see if it's available to buy, but it just throws up what it thinks are similar plates in upcoming auctions.

Here is Oz, we only have up to 6 characters, but LMS264 is available in Victoria. Just can't figure out the price, so many choices!
Either $195 or $495 I think.

These would have previously been issued in the 1970s.

There have been plenty of 'desirable' combinations with Birmingham's previous allocation of letters.

Years ago a friend of mine had 6 BOB which was on a Ford Anglia, someone's now got it on a Porsche. (10 BOB is on a Landrover)

The Lord Mayor's vehicle is LOM 1 (IIRC Coventry had COV1)

HOP 1 N is on a Lexus

' THE 1' & ' THE 2' are the numberplates on the mayoral cars in Barnsley  ( ' HE ' being the plate code for the local area. )

They're quite possibly the 2 items of greatest asset value on the council register !!

Cheers,

Phil.

( Barnsley born and bred !!  😏 )

If I remember rightly, they belong to the daughter? & hubby? of one of the Rolling Stones? They live on the corner by the bank of the Thames.
