RMweb Premium J. S. Bach Posted December 15, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 15, 2020 Funny. A neighbor in Florida got his wife a new lawnmower for Christmas; she was thrilled (really) as she did enjoy the lawn mowing. He did all the trimming, etc.
Steamport Southport
What a lot of people forget (or don't realise) is a few years ago things like steam irons, food mixers, toasters, microwave ovens and the like were major purchases. They cost a lot of money. Most women in the 1970s and '80s would be made up to get them at the time. Because they didn't have one! RMweb Gold Bucoops Posted December 17, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 17, 2020 On the North Circular was (maybe still is, but this photo is about 10 years old) a pest control company. Usually their pest of the week was moths or beetles or similar, but this one tickled me 7
RMweb Gold Bucoops Posted December 17, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 17, 2020 We've been waiting for a new station to the north of Chelmsford for over 40 years. But we have had a sign for it for a while now. I expect the whole signpost will have rotten away before the damned thing is actually built. Maybe the replacement will correctly say Railway Station? 2

RMweb Premium petethemole Posted December 17, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 17, 2020 It's quite believable though as those gantry signs can be erratic. The used to be one on the M3 that often just read "end". 1
