RMweb Gold tomparryharry Posted July 13, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 13, 2020 I have considered what uses I can make with a trolley. Those little grids of plated steel must have a use for something. Steel reinforced slabs? Security grills? 1 1

No, no, and thrice no...... Merely scrapping said trolley is a waste. What can you use it for? After all, I paid (D'yer hear me? Paid) a pound for this trolley, I want my moneys worth! 2 1 4
RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted July 14, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 14, 2020 And quite right too! I have recently adopted a small Lidl trolley found abandoned on the street and intend to use it for skip raiding, two somewhat dodgy operations combined. I am building a decent collection of burning wood for my fire basket, and need a sawing session to get things down to size before another raid! 3

RMweb Gold tomparryharry Posted July 15, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 15, 2020 On a slight aside, the recent toilet paper pandemic meant that Aldi & Lidl dispensed with the pound coin arrangement. However, now the situation seems to have 'passed' the pound coin lock has returned. However..... Muggins went to the shops, didn't he? And, he had a great big list, didn't he? And, he even took the bags, didn't he? How the Blue Blazes was I supposed to know they had re-introduced the trolley lock? "Harumph, Harumph, letter to the Times, 5 minute slot on BBC R4, never in my day..... Harumph, Harumph...." 1
RMweb Premium martin_wynne Posted July 15, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 15, 2020 I keep an old-style round £1 coin in the car for such trolleys. They work just as well as the new ones. Martin. 1
luckymucklebackit
I have a couple of discs supplied by the local car dealers, they clip onto the key ring for the car key, never without a means of releasing a trolley. Jim 1

RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted July 15, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 15, 2020 I have a couple of car park tokens (round) that I received in my change. I was going to throw them away but I'll give them a try with the trolleys first.
RMweb Gold Enterprisingwestern Posted July 15, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 15, 2020 A lollipop stick or coffee stirrers works too, (according to a friend), all you're doing is pushing the latch backwards. Mke
