Still trying to work out the concept of a flavoured crust pizza, shouldn't it be, well, Pizza flavoured?

The crust should be bread flavoured, it obviously isn't

It's the same with these places selling "Stuffed Crust" pizza.

I like mine Italian style with a thin bread base and plenty of topping, not the thick crust and "where's the topping" style.

The tomatoes that supermarkets sell are made from wood chips and water. A bit like their fruit, buy now and let it rot at home...

That's why I grow my own.

Dometica, a common commercial variety, is tasteless.

But, as the Johnster pointed out, they are still "organic" (as are wood chips) as any organic chemist will tell you.

As are petrol, paraffin, poo, urine etc.!:jester:

Many of the weedkillers, fertilisers, insecticides that stop you being classed as an "organic" grower are organic!

Generally if it's part of the carbon cycle, it's organic.

The National truss sells 'organic Honey', or they did a few years ago. They reckoned the bees collected it from flowers that were organically grown, with no chemicals. Bees will travel 3 miles from their hive, or more to get nectar and pollen. Not sure there is any area of that size in UK that did not use chemicals back then. There is a load of b**locks talked about honey, and bee products. You do not want to know what propolis actually can be, but is sold as a health product.

What's whacky about that? It's very useful, to those who have got it wrong!

Here is a similar message reinforcing the "No Entry" signs seen at the exit from Irish motorways for those thinking of going down the wrong way.

But you can't grow anything, or do anything at all in fact, with no chemicals.  This is because all corpereal matter consists of chemicals of one sort or another.  You are chemicals and the chair you are sitting on is as well, as is the air you breath, the food you eat, the water you drink, the car you drive, and the road you drive it on.

The organic flowers from which the National Truss's honey was collected are made up of chemicals, as are the bees, and as is the honey.  Most organic matter is in fact pretty unpleasant stuff...

Tomatoes are organisms, and thus by definition organic, however grown.  They consist of chemicals, as does the medium they are grown in.  'Organic' foodstuffs are proof that the middle classes are not as well educated as they think they are!

You want to see what gets sprayed on crops in these parts.  They spray it to grow and then spray it stop growing, and they spray anything that isn't the crop to kill it.  'Organic' means it hasn't had a helping hand from man made chemicals.

When farmers clean the sprayers they pass over the same piece of ground emptying the tank and pipework, the ground is classed as contaminated and is some of the most polluted we have in this country, far worse than industry.

On the word 'organic', well clearly it's got two meanings now. 1) as in organic chemistry and 2) as in 'all-natural, no artificial stuff used'. I don't think there's any ambiguity in the context of what's printed on food packaging.

Some languages use a variation on 'bio' for the second meaning.
