For example the maternity ward would be signed N9 Maternity. My brother was in there (not maternity!) for an operation, and we arrived to visit and they said he was in the recovery room. As we all know, destinations are often painted on the road to mark which lane you need. Clearly Fingringhoe is far too long so they had to shorten it.
