eastwestdivide
Keith That's how I typed it, and in the context, it seemed appropriate not to correct it. Surprised it took over 2 hours for someone to comment really!
talisman56
That's how I typed it, and in the context, it seemed appropriate not to correct it. Surprised it took over 2 hours for someone to comment really! It's surprising how much the brain interpolates what one is seeing if one is reading quickly. Mis-spellings and letter substitution or transposition are usually corrected 'in-house' unless one is really looking for actual mistakes. I didn't notice the error until it was pointed out... RMweb Premium Coryton Posted August 1, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 1, 2018 The Railway Authority is Network Rail's route control room, using Railway Authority is slightly clearer and saves time if NR was to change it's name! Simon Thanks. I've been vaguely wondering about this for a while (but clearly I wasn't bothered enough to actually ask..)

RMweb Premium martin_wynne Posted August 4, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 4, 2018 (edited) Not exactly whacky, but interesting to spot for the nerdy: linked from http://www.cbrd.co.uk/photo/c-roads You can find a list of local C-class and U-class (unclassified) road numbers on your local County Council web site, but they very rarely appear on road signs or maps. Here's a selection: http://www.cbrd.co.uk/photo/c-roads Martin. Edited August 4, 2018 by martin_wynne

Keith But they do, this example between Saltburn and Guisborough is where the road seems to have been demoted, it was the B1268 (and Google still thinks it is) but the signs say C1268.
