There are often good reasons for a bus not to use a bus lane that it's entitled to, e.g. to avoid pulling out across traffic to turn right at the next junction, or to avoid a separate traffic light that's red. And if the road isn't busy, there's no particular reason for them to use it anyway.

There's nothing in the law or the highway code that says busses have to use a bus lane if it's there.

In Birmingham there is good reason for the bus not to be in the bus lane - they are full of cars so the outer lane can be quicker! :jester:

Any funeral I have been to it has just been Steak Pie at the Purvey afterwards

I may have mentioned it before (and with apologies to the family!) but quite a long time ago I happened to open a local paper at the obituaries page, and as is often the case most of them had the surname first.  The one my eye landed on informed me of the death of "Ruddy Daniel", which I thought was a bit harsh to the poor chap...

... those people rating my previous post "Funny" ... how cruel are you ... shame on you ... laughing at the deceased's misfortune ...

... yeah, it made me chuckle for a while too.  And still does every time I'm reminded of it ...

Seen on "Ideal World" Shopping channel

Christmas Technology Special (repeat)

Complete with banner across top of screen saying "Some of the featured products no longer available"! :scratchhead:

Is it me? :jester:

Presumably they were available during the first showing but sales were so good that some items were no longer available during tbe repeat.

So why waste 15mins of telly time promoting one product that presumably has sold out? :jester:

Having seen some involvement as a supplier to one of these channels, for a show we would typically offer 10 related products or kits. Of the 10 typically 1 or 2 will sell out during the live show and the rest during repeats or online catchup times.

Obviously with it being a repeat showing of a live show they don’t edit it down, and if there is a demonstrator showing how to use the product and you edit bits out people get quite upset.

Ad is already paid for and you want to show potential customers, that the products are 'so good' that others have already sold out - so hurry, hurry, hurry!

Why then not make the banner read "Sorry this product is sold out" for the appropriate item, not "Some products are no longer available"

Oh. Silly me! You still ring the 09XXX number, get charged a fortune for it, only to be told "Sorry sold out"

More money for the shopping channel without having to actually sell anything! :jester:

I do not make calls to 09XXX numbers, if they want my custom they can give me a freephone number to call.
