RMweb Premium skipepsi Posted October 23, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 23, 2011 As it says really are there any alternatives to PVA for gluing sheets together to make scenery. I have searched but had no results. TIA Mick

col447
I used some ''hard as nails'' to glue a riser onto fibreboard, it looks as if it has dried ok. Will have to wait and see how it goes Col
RMweb Gold 96701 Posted October 23, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 23, 2011 Copydex should be okay. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copydex is one of the sites that seems to confirm that his water based glue is inert.

jcm@gwr
Any of the Gripfill/No-nails/Hard as Nails glue types will do, so long as you use the solvent-free/interior grade version. Good luck, Jeff

Dave777
May I ask why you wish to not use PVA? I might learn something. Thanks!
R A Watson
Using P V A to join two boards does not always work succesfully as it tends to dry into the board and not form a strong bond. I have found that if you sandwich a sheet of paper between the boards you will get a much stronger bond. H T H
