Keith Canada
I will be in the UK for several months commencing in mid-October through to at least March. Are there any modelling exhibitions that cater to - or have a reasonable number of - North American layouts?
shortliner
Warley ? Shame you won't be here a little longer or TVNAM would have fitted your requirements. Not sure what is scheduled to be at the AMRSS, Glasgow, last weekend in February, No info on any NMRA(BR) show. Edit - http://www.nmrabr.org.uk/division-meets/year.listevents/2011/09/14/- lists to end of the year
Glorious NSE
Oct 8th/9th we're at the Furness MRS show in Barrow in Furness http://furnessmrc.webs.com/exhibition.htm Several North American layouts on the list and some nice looking British ones too! Β The following weekend (Fri 14th to 16th) we're at the NMRA-BR's annual convention in Bournmouth http://www.bournemouthbelle2011.org.uk/ There might be the occasional North American layout there too... Keith Canada
When are Warley and TVNAM? Β The Furness show is too soon - I don't arrive in the UK until 14th Oct. and as I will be in Lincoln the Bournmouth show is too far to consider for that weekend! Glorious NSE
No probs. Β Warley is in November, details here: http://www.thewarleyshow.co.uk/ A pretty big affair, but also very busy. Β Some US stuff in the mix - Menasha Wis. is featured on this site. http://www.thewarleyshow.co.uk/overseas.htm Β A similarly sized do is Ally Pally (the big London show) - 24th/25th March next year Β Also in London, a bit smaller than those but usually pretty good and usually with decent US content is Tolworth Showtrain - i've got that listed as 12th/13th Nov. Keith Canada
OOOHHH - Warley looks good - and I'm guessing being at the NEC makes it easy to get to by train?? (I may not have a car available) Β Also found a show in Peterborough on 15/16 Oct which should again be easy to get to by train from Lincoln. Not sure if there's any North American content, though. Glorious NSE
Warley is definately do-able by train, Birmingham International station is next to the conference centre. Not sure about Peterborough, not one I know yet!?
F-UnitMad
TVNAM is in June, and in a little village that in all honesty is a little bit out of the way (with apologies to the organiser, Northpoint ) Here's the thread from this year's Show ... layout pics start near the bottom of page 5 here ... Keith Canada
Interesting! Thanks for the link. I'm guessing that next year's will also be in June, which means I might miss it - but you never know! Β By the way, does anyone know if there is a model railway club in the Lincoln area, even if not concentrating on North American prototypes?.
mr roarke
Hi Keith I will be at Peterborough with my Colorado/New Mexico HO layout "Oak Ridge Canyon" and i am pretty sure that there will be a Canadian N gauge layout there as well. This is a big show so i am sure you will find plenty there (layouts & traders) of interest. If you do attend come and say "Hi" George
jonhall
Β Also in London, a bit smaller than those but usually pretty good and usually with decent US content is Tolworth Showtrain - i've got that listed as 12th/13th Nov. Β Tolworth Showtrain will I believe have an American Hall* as usual, and I think that you have the date right - I haven't updated the website yet as I don't have a list of the layouts - but I expect that to change in the next few days.... Β *the American hall is not very large, usually 3-4 trade and a similar number of layouts, but it depends how big they are. The whole show is 20+ layouts and 20+trade Jon

baldeagle
Sorry, found it! Β It's at the East of England Showground. I'll be OK when I've fully woken up. Β John

298
The Nottingham Show in the middle of March has some excellent layouts booked and is only a short distance from Lincoln by train.
AndrewC
Keith, there is also the NMRA British Region convention Oct 14-16 in Bournemouth. Calder Northern has their Western Roads in Crewe but thats Oct 1-2. Probably too soon for you. My group's "Essex Belt Lines" modular HO will be at Chelmsford on Oct 22. Β Β Β edit: Sorry Martyn, missed your posting with Bournemouth Belle listed. My bad.

Calder Northern has their Western Roads in Crewe but thats Oct 1-2. Β Unfortunately, yes - too soon. I don't land until 14th Oct in Manchester so getting to Bournmouth would be difficult. Cheesehead
Wakefield Exhibition is on from Friday 25th November to Sunday 27th November: Β http://www.wakefieldrms.org/ExhibitionNews.html Β It is an excellent show. We have the club HO layout, Menasha, there following on from Warley the previous weekend and Eurospoor at the end of October. Β There will also be a good a selection of other layouts, mainly British outline.

Geoff Endacott
I have just put the final list of layouts here http://www.rmweb.co....__fromsearch__1 for Trainwest 2012. There will be three and a half American outline layouts. (One runs as US outline part of the time.) Β Geoff Endacott
