I've got an Athearn Union Pacific SW1500 (well that's what it says on the box) numbered as 1326. Β Railpictures says that that number belongs to an MP15DC which I understand looks very similar (from the outside). Β Can anyone shed any light on the subject, i.e. which is the correct designation, and any good sites (like RMWeb!) for finding detailing articles/tips etc? Zunnan Posted July 25, 2011 Share Posted July 25, 2011 Its technically correct. That would be one of the SW1500s that UP aquired from the MKT merger in 1988(?). Originally numbered MKT 54 it became UP 1326 and was assigned UPY 1038 but was mistakenly given the number 1326 in July 2001 and carried it for a month before renumbering back to 1038.
