dave_long
Knowing peoples loco rosters seems a popular thing amongst US forums, but looking through pbase I came across this set of photos. I know people do have lots of locos but not always somewhere to show them altogether.  clicky here  Dave
RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted July 9, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 9, 2011 Not a chap to change prototype every few years then! Very impressive, if no doubt baffling to the casual viewer of the "all diesels look the same" mentality, since in generic terms - these do!
trisonic
Yes. To repeat the quoted comment from Frank (RIP, Peter Boyle) "Holy Crap!" Â Btw, no wonder you see MRL locos all over the 'States. Â Best, Pete.
RMweb Gold griffgriff Posted July 9, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 9, 2011 Makes you think about 'completest' modellers, those who model entire fleets. Easy with low numbered types on small roads but a little more tricky if you want the whole fleet of various 'Geeps' on the BNSF (That's about the extent of my knowledge of US rail roading!) Â I know of modellers who have all 22 British Rail Deltics but again that's quite easy. All 50 '50's again quite straight forward* Â It's all good fun (and jaw dropping) Â *apologies for mentioning these tiny 'Limey' Locos on this part of the forum B)
J-Lewis
Thats an impressive roster. I feel better about justifying my collection now
davknigh
The thing is, he doesn't actually run the locos, he just leases them out to other layouts  Cheers,  David
298
I'm slowly working through the Yakima Valley, but currently there's only a few years in the early 1970's that I could claim to have the complete roster for. Modelling a shortline should have had the advantage of being immune to pretty much everything that is released, but that doesn't stop me giving into temptation.. RMweb Premium BR60103 Posted July 10, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 10, 2011 When I was young, there was reputed to be a man in Toronto who had modelled every TTC PCC car.* I heard he sold the collection to the States before I managed to meet him. Â Â * the TTC had the continent's largest fleet of PCC cars and the largest fleet of used PCC cars.
Allegheny1600
I once knew someone who was reputed to have more BC Rail RDC's than the BCR ever had, about five times as many? Go figure! John E.
F-UnitMad
Only once have I modelled the entire Locomotive Fleet of a Railroad.... Â Behold - the full Roster of the Portway Terminal Short Line... Â Â
shortliner
I didn't manage the entire Erie RR fleet - but did manage all 4 of the locos that ran on the 149th Street Harlem Station prototype on my challenge layout ...and I still like that raiway of yours, Jordan! Jon Grant 4472
Saw a photo a short while back of someone's collection of all 24 UP big boys, lined up on a glass shelf, of all things  Jon
