Waverley47708
Thanks for posting; that 1/76 Ford Cargo van should prove popular. Anyone know when these lorries were around, hoping they were around in the mid 80s?
Fat Controller
Anyone know when these lorries were around, hoping they were around in the mid 80s? Introduced in 1981, according to Wikipedia.
37114
Anyone know when these lorries were around, hoping they were around in the mid 80s? They are perfect for the mid 80's to mid 90's, they were everywhere then. Sadly they were rather water soluble so a lot were gone by the late 90's, having said that I saw one on the road last week still earning its keep. Waverley47708
Thanks, looks like I will be on the hunt for them when they come out. Would be great if Mr Oxford did one as a Pway half crew half covered lorry. Ps still hoping for a Rover SD1 as a mid 80s Traffic Police car. http://www.roversd1.co.uk/police_cars.htm

45059
I think for this post we my need a 'tut tut tut' button for those who like their classic cars, but here goes.. As someone who models the 1980s to mid 90s I feel frustrated at the last of relevant vehicles for my era. I do, however also like older cars, so came up with a solution- I went 'banger racing!' These are only interim pictures, as they're not finished yet. Glass was removed and interiors stripped, less the drivers seat. Most are Oxford diecast. When finished they will live on a scenic break that I have as part of a pit scene diorama. All hand painted (as it's hard to mess up a 1980s banger paint job!) Numbers are Letraset dry rub type. Now when are they going to bring out a Rover P5B (my all time favourite car) and a Austin Westie?!

In your defence, I can't see any late 1970s / 1980s Fords in there - other than the Capri, and they are common as dust carts round here.

There's also a couple of obligatory 'Tinas in there that you missed. I know that that this wouldn't be to everyone's taste, but it's the 80s as I remember them- and these cars were banger fodder. I also like classic cars, (I bought a Rover SD1 after leaving the forces when I felt I needed a V8 in my life.) I take little pleasure in seeing classics today 'wasted' in a banger race, but a far sorrier sight IMHO is to see one rotting for time immemorial in a yard or field then only to be scrapped anyway because no one wanted to save it before it became too far gone. mikeharvey22
For modern banger racing you need some Reliant 3 wheelers too. My nephew and great nephew have these in their team.

Catweasel
Stobart T cab A word of caution here. If you put put the T cab with a standard trailer you'll have a unit which is not road legal. A T cab is much longer than the usual forward control.
Keith George
I am thinking about adding a RAF model airfield to my model railway in the garage. I would set it in the early/mid 1950s with De- Haviland Vampires and Gloster Meteors. Would the Bedford with Queen Mary trailer still have been in service at that time.? Also what other airfield vehicles that are available in 1/76 or 1/72 would have been in service at this time. Keith.

Lots of goodies to suit your needs in it I believe B W is about to retire, not heard of any future plans for the range. A sad loss of a great range of models. Merf. jcb 3c
For your period just about everything from WW2 would still be in service . The RAF airfix kits are quite good as well , Recovery , Refuelling and Emergency . Though I was dissapointed to find out recently that in the last one the Austin K6 fire tender never existed in WW2 and was a postwar civvy vehicle never used by RAF !
