RMweb Gold BR Blue Posted January 30, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 30, 2012 Thanks guys, Cheers Mick, I did see the note with the model I assume showcase means not for running on a layout? Anyway put the bigger "showcase" one on as they look more to scale as per the real 322. BR Blue, looking forward to seeing you start on the layout, have you any pics on here of your locos? ...... Belated reply. I am working on some 56s at the moment that I will post up soon and just started on some 37/9s but that will take ages at the rate I am going. Really liking the weathering. I must admit I have a few Thornaby 37s too but they were regular visitors. I have seen a picture of 37501 and 502 in South Wales so that was my excuse
Leon
Good evening all, Just a quick snap of Inter City 47612 "Titan" Stabling over in a misty S Wales. Not sure if she will get the chance to pull any freight. May look to get some coaching stock and use her on a railtour or resting over in the yard between Rugby specials. Very light coat with the airbrush next
RMweb Premium Jason T Posted February 2, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 2, 2012 Fantastic photo, especially with the mist effect and the light from the yard lamp reflecting from it.
pitbull1845
I like it Leon, looks good amongst the sector locos... What about having it on some parcels stock? Not sure how you would work that into the story board but I do like the old blue parcel guv's... Cheers Scott
Beresford Junction
Hi Leon Great addition - I've got my eye on one of those too. Oh and well done on the new job. Cheers Phil
Leon
Thanks Sand, the cam was in the van and when I brought it in from the cold the lense misted over, giving the effect, bit of luck really..lol Scott, defo having some parcel stock and 612 on it was a thought, although its mainly fright only, could the yard be used for a possible run round or stable, close to a station that has no real room??? Thanks Phil, really enjoying the job which is a real bonus these days...so thank you for the kind comment. I had to get one at £49.99 delivered. All the best guys, will get some more on once gone under the airbrush and etched plates fitted.
pitbull1845
I dont see why they couldn't stable some parcel stock in the siding during the day... Another option that I've found going through my pictures is this one: Not the same livery and not South Wales but its an Inter city loco on freight! (well engineers) but it could work... Maybe worth a flickr search for more... Cheers Scott
Leon
Thanks Scott, thats a great picture to work with, I also have a fancy for the InterCity Swallow livery, A 47/8 is a great turn up. Cheers.
P.C.M
Hi Leon, Great news on the job, 47612 looks good too I have a couple that I have renumbered, they come up really well. So much so I couldn't resist buying another from Modelzone. Cheers Peter. PS I am sure I have seen pics of 612 or 613 on a p way train, and being based at Old Oak Common would probably have made it to South Wales fairly regularly. br2975
Really liking the weathering. I must admit I have a few Thornaby 37s too but they were regular visitors. I have seen a picture of 37501 and 502 in South Wales so that was my excuse As they were initially refurbished, the 37/5s were allocated to canton and used on MGR trains in South Wales. . After a short time they were transferred to Thornaby, but still ran to Cardiff Tidal on the daily Tees Yard service. . Here are a couple of shots of 37517 & 37518 I took at Tidal, back in 1989 ! P.C.M
Hi Leon, Me again, I was scanning a slide for a mate and thought you might like these two. My Scanner does't do slides very well, but here they are. I would guess the 37/5s are on the same train as Brian mentions above. Cheers Peter.
Leon
Hi everyopne, hope all is well, Spent a bit of cash on the layout the other day, dont get much for fifty quid anymore ! Decided to concentrate on the layout more, improvements and more detail and scenic work instead of loco's and rolling stock. In the area next to the motorway I am planning a small S&T yard/area with a few huts and portacabins. Purchased a Ratio crane for in front of the wagon works, will paint it bright well dirty yellow so hopefully will add a splash of colour in that corner. Also looking for something to fill the space between the line into the layou and the depot as seen in the last pics, was thinking of the Bachmann water tower until I saw the crazy price so its now going to be a £5 Ratio grounded van kit.... Lastly 506 is seen on a mixed steel train. Looking to buy some traffic cones and skips soon to add a bit more lineside clutter. Hopefully get the crane and van kits built over the weekend. Thanks and all the best Leon.
Leon
Good morning all, A little update, InterCity 47612 is seen working a freight bound for Burrows Yard before facing the airbrush, hopefully this weekend. Its seen passing the under construction S&T yard whilst Railfreights 37407 is seen resting up in the yard. Hopefully start to build the wagon hoist/crane this weekend for in frot of the wagon works which at the moment has a SSA scrap wagon waiting for attention from the nearby steelworks. retroman
Wonderful work, Leon. I spent a lot of time mooching around Ebbw Jct in my youth and you've got the feel of that area spot-on. You are book-marked, dude!

Poindexter
Very impressed with the colours and textures used in the ground cover for the S&T yard Leon. And the way that the grass seems to be growing 'through' the items left lying around. Nice one. Guy
