P.C.M
Thanks Peter, I aways like looking at your pictures I use to have lots I took at Newport at the sametime..maybe we was on the same platform.. The Dutch 37 i have wanted for a while but cant find the Bachmann one anywhere and not paying what they want for the Vi verson, all that money and you have to finish building it yourself...lol. Once again thanks for the posts I really look forward to seeing the pics, I will defo go with changing 406 to a more local St Blazey loco, Was 412 named "driver John Elliot" and 413 "Loch Eli" ? Thanks Leon, The Bachmann Dutch loco does seen to be hard to get, hopefully Bachmann will bring out another one at some point. The Vi one may come down in price as the others have. 37412 was named 'Driver John Elliot" but It did run for some time without a name and 37413 was " Loch Eli" etc. Cheers Peter. Leon
Bachmann v Vi on the Coals, newly detailed 800 arrives with a short train of household coal, Will be getting dirty once the touch up paint arrives for the damage that can be seen around the nameplate. 37898 is the Bachmann loco leaving the yard. Also need to paint the airhorns and pipework.

Leon
Hello, Ive spend an hour reading through your thread, what a layout ! I love the industrial background to. Any plans for the cut down Class 08/9s ? Great Western. Wow an hour, firstly I would like to thank you for taking the time to go through it.. Lots of plans to make the locos & stock more accurate to the area but I think this will be sometime away yet, still parts of the layout to finish and improve. A cut down 08 would be great and something that will happen one day... Thanks again for taking the time to read through and comment.

1722
Love the little 'CCFC' on 37 800. Mind you, as a Crewe fan I reckon you need to change the second 'C' into an 'A!' Love this thread. Top work.
Leon
Cheers Chris, Not much action this Bank Holiday, 37800 arrives with empties from Aberthaw PS as the shunters idle over.
pitbull1845
Once again Leon, nice pics. 09019 looks unloved. I just can't get over what a difference the backscene makes.. its great. Cheers Scott
Arpleymodeller
Excellent photos as usual Leon, very good work with the weathering Whats happened to 09019! Its Mainline logos have gone?
Leon
Was hoping by removing the Mainline branding and giving it some dirt it would look like a BR Blue loco but it wnt horribly wrong ! To be hounest it looks c*@p. Need a rethink on this one, still too much dirt on it and the blue looks horid..! Maybe try a respray??
pitbull1845
Thats a shame Leon if you dont like 09019, I think it looks suitably grubby. What did you use to weather it? can it not be removed?? Failing that look for a BR blue body and swap it over? I know what you mean though because I had a go at weathering my Mainline 60 and I'm not happy with it. Now she just sits in the fiddle yard.. Awaiting her fate.. Cheers Scott
Leon
Hi all, looking to off load these freightliners if anyone is interested in swapping. Brand new, with fittings, I did part weather them by removing some of the wording, brand new with box otherwise. Reason is they are too long for the fiddle yard, the 3 sets I have is long enough, looking to swap for some shorter wheelbase wagons maybe so let me know if you have any unused rolling stock you can spare. Cheers Leon.

Leon
Hi all, no work done in the atic for a month or so, need to build up the embankment along side the depot this week towards the tunnel to the fiddle yard. Some new BDA's did arrive last month. Hi all, no work done in the atic for a month or so, need to build up the embankment along side the depot this week towards the tunnel to the fiddle yard. Leon
With the lack of a Dutch 37 Trainload Coal is tasked on CE duties over the weekend and is seen arriving at the Yard with a short train, The embankment is starting to go up adjacent to the depot and work on the tunnel portal, I have used a lacquer to give a wet South Wales look.

Leon
Thanks guys, anyone know a good way of adding "oily" stains ? I want to add some to the 09 bodysides and maybe on the bogies of the 37's, is it just a matter of gloss black paint streaked on with a brush ? I have got some black paint that came with the "oils spill" kit I got for the track work in the depot area's. Thanks
mason
Hi Leon really love these 2 shots of your depot area and the depot area itself is fantastic, and what a line up, woud love a line up like this on Deeping Lane great job Neil
pitbull1845
Continuing to look great Leon, I especially like the shunter with the BDA's. I cant really help you with the oily stain question, as i'm not brave enough to attack my locos in such a way, I did use weathered black from railmatch for my trackwork within the depot.... Beresford Junction
Hi Leon Great photos and update - what I like is the feeling of space, as usual less is more. I keep on adding more and more to Beresford Junction until it's full up then decide I don't like it any more. I think I'm going to have to do some demolition..... Leon
Evening guys, not much one, took some of the paint off the VGA's & Cargowaggons after seeing Neils weathering. Nephew came over so had a bit of a play in the atic with the 37's....The cargowaggons stil look in a semi stored state...Not sure if I should take more paint off. Thanks for looking guys.
mason
Hi Leon, id take a little bit more off the cargo wagon, id probably use a cotton bud with water or spirits on it depending on what you have weathered them in and gentle take the paint away pretty much to the state the Railfreight wagon is to the right in the second shot, im no expert and iv only been weathering stuff properly for a few weeks but thats what i would do. The weathering on the 37 is superb, i wish i had the space in my loft to build something like this, i always seem to get the house with the beams the opposite way around have fun Neil
Leon
lol, I am lucky with the loft space although now its boarded out the wife wants to take over...lol Its taken a few years to get to a house like this mind, quiet a few years renting then a first time buyers house. Cant move again as I built it as permanent...lol. Found a pic today of another Canton 37/2 in trainload metals so Im able to get another Vi37209 to renumber...will get the thinners out tomoz night and work on that wagon. Cheers.
