There was often just one on shed in this period. Tony

filtonjuncktion
Bristol Parkway July 8th 1987 Evening about one hour 08900 47532/543/623 50016 56034 Bewen 1971 and at least 1977 a shunter was based at stoke gifford/Bristol Parkway during the weekdays for around four/five hours (watched a lot of shunting from classrooms at my school). I remember seeing D3000 there sometime and having a short ride in the cab. I was surprised to see one at Parkway on this evening and I recall there was a regular shunter at this location for at least another 5 months. I saw 08800/950 also there but I have no idea for the reason of their appearance.
Pobrien
The equivalent Saturday 52 years ago - July 11, 1964 1964 was the final year of steam being used on the majority of trains originating from holiday destinations in the South West to the Midlands and North of England. This weekend was the beginning of the busiest month of Summer Saturdays with extra relief trains being put on to supplement the already frequent procession of trains to and from Devon and Cornwall. Only the trains to and from Wolverhampton would survive to be steam-hauled north of Bristol in 1965. Jubilee 45631 Tanganyika storms past the engine sidings at Barrow Road Shed. Everything in this photo is now a dual carriageway ! https://www.flickr.com/photos/bristolsteam/5221536044/in/photolist-8XpJKw Two photos of steam engines pounding through Lawrence Hill Station on Summer Saturday holiday extras in preparation for tackling Filton Bank. Although a banker would have been available, the manoeuvres at Stapleton Road and LE running would have hampered this busiest time of day on this route. https://www.flickr.com/photos/bristolsteam/5650193198/in/photolist-9BhHA7 https://www.flickr.com/photos/bristolsteam/5331135276/in/photolist-986sMs
