Adam
I've posted this elsewhere, mostly for the Sentinel, but the 16 tonner behind it is interesting, well, to me, anyway. Clearly owned by Imperial Smelting it may have been converted to a tippler http://www.philt.org.uk/Misc/Brian/i-6F8JrPV The second shot (below) may show plated up side doors: http://www.philt.org.uk/Misc/Brian/i-BN957BQ The third shows a set of four. Any ideas folks? http://www.philt.org.uk/Misc/Brian/i-FPrZLvW Adam Edited June 13, 2014 by Adam

As we passed Wellingborough there was a rake of these wagons loaded with iron ore in front of the Wheetabix factory. My dad said "The stuff in the wagons is what Wheetabix is made of". My brother would not eat Wheetabix for some time afterwards.

26power
From: http://www.nrm.org.uk/ourcollection/photogallery?group=British%20Transport%20Commission Don't recall this site being linked, but apologies if it has. Tippler somewhere: http://www.nrm.org.uk/ourcollection/photo?group=British%20Transport%20Commission&objid=1996-7038_BTF_GI01_13 Tippler seems to be at a higher level than track level, therefore somesort of wagon lift to get them up to the tippler? In use for sugar: http://www.nrm.org.uk/ourcollection/photo?group=British%20Transport%20Commission&objid=1996-7038_BTF_29_36 http://www.nrm.org.uk/ourcollection/photo?group=British%20Transport%20Commission&objid=1996-7038_BTF_29_37 Presumably the same, but it doesn't specifically say that: http://www.nrm.org.uk/ourcollection/photo?group=British%20Transport%20Commission&objid=1996-7038_BTF_29_39 There are other interesting pictures of suger beet operations, but OT for this thread. This one of more benefit re the tankers in colour, but part of a 16 tonner in view: http://www.nrm.org.uk/ourcollection/photo?group=British%20Transport%20Commission&objid=1996-7038_BTF_8951
