hoovernut
I have been looking about for weathering books and come across the book by Pelle Solberg "Done in a day". Has any one got it and if so is it any good. Thanks in advance.
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted April 11, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 11, 2011 Yes it's very good. He's got a good style with the technique explained with pictures and good captions. http://www.soeeborg.dk/bookseng.html recommended
AndrewC
Seconded on the recommendation. He presented a weathering clinic at the NMRA convention in Kegworth last year. That alone was worth the whole weekend. I'd also recommend his book on scenery techniques. Just picked that one up and still going through it again. RMweb Gold Revolution Ben Posted April 11, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 11, 2011 Hi there, Another vote for Pelle. I bought this book a couple of years ago and have found it hugely inspirational. The only slight negative is that the product brands he mentions are, not surprisingly, more familiar to US modellers. However, they can be easily substituted. cheers Ben A.
swisspeat
I recommend Pelle's book too. He takes good pictures to demonstrate his work. He has wriiten a couple of other books that are equally as good about making scenery though I think his first book is now out of print. Kalmbach are the publishers. Pelle is working on a new book now but I do not think its to be published until 2012. Some of the products he uses are available in the UK from Model Junction of Slough (www.modeljunction.info).
