UCKFIELD CIVIC CENTRE Civic Approach Uckfield East Sussex TN22 1AE Saturday 17th October 2009 Sunday 18th October 2009 Open 10am till 5pm both days The 2009 Uckfield Model Railway Exhibition will once again be featuring a selection of some of the best quality layouts around. There will be full trade support as well as Demonstration & Engineering stands. Licensed Restaurant within the Civic Centre will be open throughout the weekend. Layouts expected to attend amongst others include: Eatanswill - 7mm/ft scale 32mm gauge (0) - BR (NE) East Anglian through station by Dave Holman - third time out Rivendell - 7mm/ft scale 16.5mm gauge (0-16.5) - freelance British narrow gauge by Brandon Evans Portchullin - 4mm/ft scale 18.83mm gauge (P4) - BR Highland station set in the 1970s by Mark Tatlow - third time out Trerice - 4mm/ft scale 18.83mm gauge (P4) - Cornish china clay scene by Iain Rice Cornwallis Yard - 4mm/ft scale 18.2mm gauge (EM) - GWR multi level scene exhibited by David Barker Netherhall & Fletching - 4mm/ft scale 16.5mm gauge (00) - BR (SR) third rail electric through station by the Uckfield MRC Stourcombe - 4mm/ft scale 16.5mm gauge (00) - BR (SR) Somerset & Dorset terminus by Roger Bradgate - debut exhibition Hellingly Hospital Railway - 4mm/ft scale 16.5mm gauge (00) - Local industrial system by Philip Parker Purbeck - 4mm/ft scale 9mm gauge (00-9) - Industrial narrow gauge system by John Thorne Grafenwalde - 3.5mm/ft scale 16.5mm gauge (H0) - German branch line terminus exhibited by the Wight MRG West Street Yard - 3.5mm/ft scale 16.5mm gauge (H0) - American switching layout by Chris James Whatlington - 3mm/ft scale 14.2mm gauge - BR (SR) village station by Peter Bossom - debut public exhibition West Tilgate - 1:148 scale 9mm gauge (British N) - BR (SR) mainline through station by the Crawley MRS Wansbeck Road - 2mm/ft scale 9.42mm gauge - BR (NE) County Durham station by Mick Simpson - now extended Trade confirmed at the present time: Albert Goodall - SR lineside components as well as locomotive detailing parts Barry Jones - second hand ready to run, kits and books Dart Castings - white metal lineside accessories - includes MJT and Monty's Model Railway figures Eileen's Emporium - hand tools, raw materials and supplies for the railway modeller Kevin Robertson Books - publisher of the Southern Way, extensive selection of books/dvds for sale No Nonsense Kits - manufacturer of multiple unit and rolling stock kits Plus Daughters - N gauge specialist stocking British, Continental and American ready to run Realistic Modelling Services - specialist scenic modelling materials Roxey Mouldings - finescale locomotive, carriage and wagon kits in 4mm and 7mm scales South Eastern Finecast - 4mm scale locomotive kit manufacturer The Hobby Box - local model shop with very extensive range, both ready to run and for the kit builder Public access to the Civic Centre is via either the free High Street car park (Civic Approach), or the Tesco Superstore. The venue is also only three minutes walk away from both the railway and bus stations. I didn't take all that many pictures while I was there - but I did snap a few of Portchullin. It was one of those layouts that had me mesmerised and I could have stood and watched it for hours.
