RMweb Premium Temeraire Posted December 27, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 27, 2012 Hi Phil Hope you had a good Christmas, you've been quiet, didn't Santa bring anything interesting this year then?
Beresford Junction
Hope you had a good Christmas, you've been quiet, didn't Santa bring anything interesting this year then? All I got was an early delivery of the Dapol megafrets and the Eddie Stobart containers. Been out visiting a lot, so no real time to play over the hols or move things along, and we're off to do more visiting until the new year, and I had to stand in the refunds queue with all the Freightliner stuff I'd bought for Scott - I should have known. While 'spending time with the family', I took the opportunity to catch up with my magazine backlog and got to reading the article in Deceber Model Rail 'Sample Steel Train for Horseley Fields' - that would give me the opportunity to run the EWS and Railfreight together, and with swap between the Freightliner container depot and a steel yard. I thought I'd grab some photos, but someone else kept getting in on the act! Phil Edited December 27, 2012 by Beresford Junction

Beresford Junction
It's funny you mention steel traffic, I got a few BDA wagons for my Birthday.. It's the way forward... I'm off up North tomorrow so will try to pop into Tees Yard and see if there is anything to see, although not sure how much steel goes through there these days.
Beresford Junction
I've just checked through the rosta of locos in storage and found 56 032 in Metals sector, including cobwebs. All I need is a few more wagons and the world demand for steel to pick up and I can see some regular services down to Redbrook. Phil
Beresford Junction
Some pictures from this morning down at a very wet and windy Tees Yard - a few BDAs for you Scott. These sidings are off in the distance in the photo below at the left hand side. Then 60 017 left with some rather battered scrap wagons And some of the 'depot' - looks like I need to start making some puddles like Maybeck Road Depot Time to dry out now. 1722
Good pics - that 'depot' is ripe for an Inglenook model.

Poindexter
Nice to see a few pics from my area. Shame its not what it once was only a decade or two ago, Or that I should of taken more interest when it was on my doorstep! I go over the A19 flyover when I'm taking the bairn down to her grandparents. Looks like a huge scrapyard of wagons, like one day it was all action then it just froze in time and rust took over!! Beresford Junction
Ok - so I've finally risen to Ian's challenge, so despite being away for the weekend, I've come back and cut out the remaining semi-circles.... Poppy the cat kindly donated the use of her traveling basket as a saw bench. Phil
pitbull1845
And they're off! Good luck with the challenge... I'm sure it will have its up and downs and you'll probably end up going round in circles but I'm sure you will cope.
Beresford Junction
Of course the real reason for me cracking on with it is that I need to be able to accept the passing steel traffic from Redbrook hauled by 60 066 and 37 514 before Scott moves on to something else!

Phil I hope your saw goes blunt and your nuts round off !! ;-) Seriously though Phil, get cracking and it might give me the kick I need. Following others progress is always inspirational. And they're off! Good luck with the challenge... I'm sure it will have its up and downs and you'll probably end up going round in circles but I'm sure you will cope. Hmmm ..... You should be on stage........... Sweeping it! Guy

Beresford Junction
Daily progress update on the helix - none, although I have done a bit more measuring on what needs to be done. 37 514 should arrive today from Cornwall allowing the through service from Redbrook to South Wales. In the mean time 56 032 is used to marshall some extra BDAs into place. Phil
pitbull1845
Thats interesting Phil, Redbrook is looking to get 56032 on their books too.. Just missed the Postie who's got some BDA's for me and a couple of Cargowaggons.. Is your Freightliner theme still going too or are you one of those people who changes there mind all the time? They do annoy me. Lol
Beresford Junction
....or are you one of those people who changes there mind all the time? They do annoy me. Lol That would just be rediculous - who on earth would do that? Edited January 8, 2013 by Beresford Junction
Beresford Junction
Some progress tonight, although not as much as Guy it appears - I have adjusted the height of the stand and braced it, then decided that I needed to paint (a nice shade of greeen) the circular boards since they're MDF and it can get damp down in the basement and I don't want them to swell up. So instead of watching the paint dry, I decided to welcome the new addition to the steel fleet - direct from Redbrook. Away for a couple of days with work now, so that's it for a bit. Beresford Junction
Good mix of two tone subsector loco"s.... Thanks, I've got a Coal sector '56 waiting to re-join the team, although I need to get some wagons for it to haul.
class"66"
Thanks, I've got a Coal sector '56 waiting to re-join the team, although I need to get some wagons for it to haul. What wagons were you thinking of getting??
Beresford Junction
What wagons were you thinking of getting?? I was thinking of getting some MGR hoppers, however I've done some research and found loads of examples of Coal sector 56's pulling steel wagons, so will probably just go with that, rather than getting distracted even more and ending up building a colliery.
