Beresford Junction
That might be a bit over the top for a road that might hardly be seen!!! Ah, but I'd know it was there.... In the mean time 08585 undergoes inspection following it's arrival at Beresford Yard from Stafford Central being put immediately to work replenishing the fuel depot. Beresford Junction
Realy like the freightliner 08,is that the Bachmann?? Morning Yes, it's a Bachmann. It came with Kadee couplings, but I've changed the one on the back to an NEM one and will probably also change the front. Phil
Beresford Junction
A bit of bridge construction today... I've been applying the brickwork (underneath), laid the pavement and also the road. I tried to do the camber, but it all got a bit fiddly. RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted November 10, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 10, 2012 A bit of bridge construction today... I've been applying the brickwork (underneath), laid the pavement and also the road. I tried to do the camber, but it all got a bit fiddly. Phil I built a cambered road on our club layout 'Skelthorpe Lower' by using a 'flat pyramid' of strips of card laid lengthwise and using mounting card for the road surface.

Beresford Junction
Following the shock announcement that Freightliner was reducing its operations at Redbrook, and a change of era might be occurring, it was revealed today that Railfreight will be providing additional services based at Beresford Yard, using the newly acquired red stripe Class 37. 37 506 is currently in transit from Sheffield and expected to be on depot by the weekend.
pitbull1845
I was tempted by that or the Metals one Phil, seems a very good price. Look forward to seeing its arrival. Hows the track work coming along? Cheers Scott
Beresford Junction
Track all down now, apart from one double set of points which was awaiting me buying some more insulated joiners - I must admit all that polarity / electrofrog stuff confused me a bit. I then decided I needed to improve my soldering skills before I attacked and messed it all up, which I did when I was 'WFH' the other day, so the plan is to start that at the weekend (before I change my mind again). Work on the bridge is coming along, although I think I got carried away with the brick painting - it all looks a bit dark, or rahter black so I'll need to start again with that. Of course all I need is some suitable rolling stock to run with it now ;-) Phil
RMweb Premium Temeraire Posted November 14, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 14, 2012 Ah ha, see I told you both you'd come back to the 90s eventually!!
Beresford Junction
A pic of the bridge painting - it doesn't look that black on the photos. As a contrast I've not painted the pillar between the plate sections. And yes Ian, looks like 1990's here we come - now where are those Spice Girls CD's Phil

Beresford Junction
Unfortunately due to transit problems, 37 506 failed to arrive on depot this weekend, it's alocated duties running the engineers train being covered by trusty old 60 066. Hopefully 37 506 will be maiking an appearance soon. Phil Edited November 18, 2012 by Beresford Junction
Beresford Junction
After arriving late on depot, 37 506 has undergone it's electrical overhaul, followed by a slight delay due to a lost screw! before taking over from 60 066 for the overnight engineering works laying the new sidings at Beresford Yard. Beresford Junction
Back to the bridge building last night - yes I know 'mouseholes' are the next big (or should that be small) thing. I finally got all of the brickwork cut and stuck in place - a few bits of filling to be done at the edges, then on to the painting... Phil
Beresford Junction
A bit of driver training going on down at the Junction - we like to start them early... And I've also installed a rest area for his younger sister (note anything of value on the top shelf out of reach). Now you'll understand why I never actually make any progress! Beresford Junction
A little helper too Strange how he always seems to find the stanley knives, drills and hammers. The 'classic' Hornby controller is mine from when I was about ten (a good few years ago) - good to see it in use again, as he hasn't quite got the hang of DCC yet.
class"66"
900 power controler!! still using them for my points!! with all the yellow and black Hornby switches
Beresford Junction
Just found out that Beresford Junction is being 'inspected' in a couple of weeks - you know I work best to deadlines, so I've taken an afternoon off work to finish the bridge and get back to laying/wiring up the track.
Beresford Junction
Ok - bridge now complete And I've also wired up the power to the first few sidings - managing to burn myself on the solder in the process, so decided to stop and play trains for a bit to recover...
