RMweb Premium 45156 Posted May 7, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 7, 2018 Hi Dave - brilliant videos - that Polaroid cube has certainly improved things beyond recogition, and the sound is also extremely good - I think that the 27 is so realistic - but then so waws the A4. Popular Post Waverley West
Hi folks, We go trackside down at Waverley West tonight, as an InterCity-liveried HST and Strathclyde 107 arrive together... Shortly after, 47636 departs for Aberdeen, as a Glasgow to Edinburgh push-pull service arrives... Another view of 47636 departing as an HST arrives... Popular Post Waverley West
Hi folks, Not a lot to report really. This glorious weather is keeping me outside at the moment. Pending the resumption of normal service, here are a few pics from a brief running session I managed to squeeze in last night. As you can see the weather here is pretty fantastic at the moment. Ideal for a stroll along the river bank. Not surprisingly, the river's looking low. 26025 on a ballast train... Over at Haymarket, various locos were in for attention... including 47459 and D200 And some in black and white... That's all for now folks, I expect to be back once the weather breaks! 7APT7
Hi Dave Excellent photos in both B&W and Colour, I like the way the lights at night have that glow, and the one with the Class 40 aka D200 tucked back into the engine shed in lane 6E looks great, you have captured that just perfectly. The Three arches Bride with a semi-dried up river if that what I can call it, looks just great to, and the B&W version of the same photo is superb to. Is the '#E' on the Engine Shed, does that stand for 'EAST Entrance', just intrigued...lol Regards Jamie
Waverley West
Hi Dave Is the '#E' on the Engine Shed, does that stand for 'EAST Entrance', just intrigued...lol Regards Jamie Hi Jamie. The 'E' does indeed stand for 'East'. It's the end of the shed which faces Edinburgh. Cheers Dave (still enjoying this crazy spell of weather)
7APT7
Hi Dave Yes, we are having some great weather at the moment, in the late afternoon, sitting in the garden with a ice cold can of Woodpecker Cider, making the most of it, as we never know how long it will last for. Hope all is well mate. Regards Jamie
Popular Post Waverley West
Hi folks Well, the wonderful spell of weather has finally come to an end and it's back to normal for the moment at least. A quiet weekend saw some useful modelling time too. The finishing touches were put to 150001, which is now in service. The InterCity HST was fitted with corridor connections and the blue/grey HST was withdrawn for the fitting of Lazerglaze windows and corridor connections. There was even time for a running session for final proving runs with 150001 and the corridor connection-fitted HST. The HST ran well in pull mode, so the next session will see it tested in push mode. A tweak to 150001's CV settings saw the volume level increased, but apart from that the Howes chip provides excellent sound. Here are some pics from the running session. 47636 passes time in platform 15 alongside 60009, as the crew prepares to depart for Inverness... A 4-car 101 unit leaves platform 18 bound for Fife... Some shots of 150001 as it runs in and out of Waverley... And now for some shots of the InterCity HST, newly fitted with corridor connections. Following Oxford Rail's decision not to fit lights to their new Mk 3s, I will be hanging on to my trusty Hornby Mk 3s and gradually improving them further. The corridor connections are the latest improvement. Other improvements to come include the fitting of interior lights and disk brake pads. With the blue-grey HST currently in the works, the ScotRail push-pull unit will be next in for attention, for fitting of Lazerglaze, etched window frames and corridor connections, all ready for the arrival of Bachmann's DBSO, hopefully in the not too distant future. That's all for now, folks. Hope to be back soon with the completed blue-grey HST and work started on the Glasgow - Edinburgh push-pull unit. Cheers for now,Dave Edited June 17, 2018 by Waverley West

MRDBLUE17
Hi Dave, Hope you are all well. The latest 150 looks great and those corridor connectors certainly improve the realism even further on the MK 3’s. What did you use for them as I have a VTec set to do at some point? Funny thought of you today as had a trip at Bo’ness, the pile of charred sleepers are still there from the linside fire that day we all went on it which reminded me. All the best Mark

RMweb Premium 45156 Posted June 18, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 18, 2018 Yet again, I'm not sure whether I'm looking at photos of the real Waverley or of a model - there are only a few layouts on here with this degree of realism, this one, and Peterborough North, and Liverpool Lime Street being the most obvious. Every one is different, and all are brilliant.

They're from York Modelmaking. I've always thought corridor connectors make a huge difference to a rake. It's taken me a long time to get round to doing them but I'm getting there now.
